Jamie and Matt chose the beautiful Klondike Park in Augusta, Missouri for their fall session, and I couldn’t have been happier! This park has a lot of gorgeous scenery to offer. Pair that with the autumn season, and I knew we’d be able to capture some beautiful images of the darling couple. Jamie and Matt were so easy to photograph. These two were adorable and their laughter was making me laugh. I had an absolute blast venturing around the park and taking in all the breathtaking views with these two. It was the perfect Thursday evening spent documenting Jamie and Matt and their endearing love.
How They Met
Jamie and Matt met on October 29, 2018 at their mutual friends house. They had both known Matt for years but Jamie and Matt never knew each other. Jamie was on her way to the gym when she got a text to stop by the friends house for a bon fire. When Jamie arrived to her friends house, she saw this new guy and immediately wanted to get to know him. Jamie and Matt would hit it off, so their first date was about a month later since Matt worked out of state at that time. They went to Texas Roadhouse and Jamie ordered chicken at a steakhouse. Matt still judges her for it. A couple months after meeting, Jamie and Matt would officially begin dating.
How He Asked
The day he proposed, Jamie and Matt went on a hike which they usually don’t do(red flag #1). He decided to wear cargo shorts on their hike (red flag #2) and wore his shirt untucked which he usually doesn’t do (red flag #3). When they got there, they hiked for what seemed like forever. Jamie and Matt finally made it to where we could see the river. They squared down to see under the trees. Jamie and Matt sat there for a little while before they decide to go back. Eventually, Jamie got up first to leave. She made it a couple steps away from Matt when he asked for help up because “he was stuck” ( he says that a lot at home so Jamie didn’t think anything of it). Jamie turned around to help him up and he pulled out a box with a ring! It caught Jamie so off guard even though she had her suspicions that morning. Jamie started crying of course. He put the ring on her finger and he asked if Jamie was going to say anything. Jamie responded by asking Matt if he was going to ask her to marry him and he said, “I thought that was implied”. Jamie cried with excitement almost all the way back to the truck.
