Mr. and Mrs. Ocampo | St. Francis Xavier Wedding | Taos, Missouri

When the weather forecast calls for temperatures in the triple digits, you wonder how a wedding day will go! We knew we were in for one of the hottest wedding days we had ever been apart of. What we didn’t realize was how well it would go given the steep humidity and temperatures. Though it was one of the hottest days of the year, Kristen and Edward shared a blissful wedding day full of love.

After the engagement session we had with Kristen and Edward back in May, we knew their wedding day would be nothing short of amazing. Kristen and Edward shared a beautiful wedding day at St. Francis Xavier Church with a reception following in Xavier Hall. The day began in Rector hall behind church. They had an entire hair and makeup team on site to help get everyone ready for the day. Every space in the back room had been completely taken over Kristen’s lovely bridesmaids, flower girls, and candle lighters and family. The girls had a great time getting ready and began their celebrations for the day by popping the bubbly.

When it came time to get into the dress, Kristen’s matron of honor and mom helped her into the beautiful Mia Grace gown. Kristen was all smiles as Andrea and her mom helped button up the dress. They finished off the look with a gorgeous lace wedding veil. We were floored when Kristen explained to us that it was the same veil her mom had worn many years ago. They did reconstruct the veil by taking the headpiece off and adding some jewels. It was such a sentimental touch to the day.

Kristen and Edward decided to not share a first look, but they knew they still wanted to do something special before the ceremony. Edward’s groomsmen blindfolded him and led him to Kristen to share a romantic moment just before the start of the ceremony. They held each other close and had the most joyful smiles as they stood together just before the ceremony.  The ceremony was beautiful! Edward’s reaction to his bride walking down the aisle was so cute. He had the biggest grin as he watched Kristen walk towards him. Kristen’s reaction walking down the aisle was just as sweet. She looked so joyful as she made her way down to Edward.

It’s no secret that Kristen and Edward have an amazing group of family and friends. Everyone was so excited the entire day for Kristen and Edward to be tying the knot. Despite the extreme temperatures, there was no shortness of laughter the entire wedding day. Their bridal party members were such troopers to endure those hot temperatures and humidity for the sake of portraits. We couldn’t be more thankful to have had such an easygoing group to work with when the conditions weren’t the best they could be.

When Kristen and Edward are around each other, it is obvious that these two are a match made in heaven. God knew exactly what he was doing when he put Kristen and Edward together. Kristen is a more shy and reserved, but as soon as she is around Edward, she just lights up. She is giddy and she cannot stop smiling. A love like theirs is the most sweet thing you can witness. Their wedding day was a hot one, but their day was perfect in every single way. Their day was full of laughter, joyful family and friends, and love. What more could you ask for? Sparks flew at the end of the night;quite literally! To end the night, their families and bridal party had a sparkler send off. Kristen and Edward shared a romantic kiss under the glistening sparkers before running through the tunnel of flickering sparks. These two share something so special and we are so honored we were able to celebrate day on of their marriage. Kristen and Edward, we wish you the absolute best! It’s been a blast celebrating this special season with you. Thanks for being so amazing to work with! We wouldn’t have wanted to spend the hottest day of the year with any other couple.

P.S. Thanks for including a little bit of Taylor swift on your playlist at the reception! You guys are the best!! Enjoy some of our favorites from their blush and mint wedding day.
