Mr. & Mrs. Hansen | White Iron Ridge Wedding | Smithville, Missouri

Photographing weddings is always a privilege, and Macyn and Anthony’s wedding was no exception!  Macyn and Anthony’s wedding was held on the first day of July, at the magnificent White Iron Ridge in Smithville, Missouri.  With its extravagant beauty sprawling across 72 acres of open fields and lush tree lines, the venue served as the perfect backdrop for the Hansen wedding celebration!  Despite an ominous forecast, the skies held out, allowing us to capture the stunning exterior of the venue.

The day began with a bustling energy at the venue, where Macyn and her bridesmaids reveled in laughter and anticipation while getting their hair and makeup done.  As the groomsmen arrived, the halls filled with vibrant music, heightening the atmosphere.  Anthony, assisted by his proud father Richard and brother, prepared for the day ahead, radiating excitement.  The groomsmen joined us outside the venue, and their lively camaraderie made for effortless and genuine portraits, a testament to Anthony’s remarkable group of friends!

The moment had arrived for Macyn to step into her wedding gown!  Before the grand reveal, the ladies gathered upstairs in the bride and groom suite, capturing adorable shots in their cute pajamas. It was there that Macyn received a heartwarming surprise, orchestrated by her sweet bridesmaids. With her mom’s help, Macyn slipped into her timeless wedding gown, adorned with jewelry and a meticulously fluffed veil.  The bridal portraits showcased Macyn’s radiant happiness, capturing the essence of a bride-to-be on her special day!  The bridesmaids, an incredible group of women, exuded laughter and added to the joyous atmosphere when Macyn revealed her bridal look to them.

The wedding ceremony took place at St. James Catholic Church in Liberty, Missouri, a town that held significant meaning for Macyn and Anthony.  It was here, during their time at William Jewell College, that their paths first crossed.  Surrounded by loved ones, the couple shared in a traditional Catholic Mass, becoming husband and wife within the hour. After the ceremony and formal family portraits, we ventured to Macyn and Anthony’s old college stomping grounds for lively bridal party portraits, filled with singing and laughter. Returning to the venue, we completed the remaining portraits with the bridal party, their sweet golden retriever pups,  and the newly pronounced Mr. and Mrs. Hansen, just as the sun graced us with its presence.

With the bridal party’s grand entrance, the reception commenced in a flurry of excitement. As each member ascended the grand staircase, anticipation grew for the arrival of the newlyweds.  The room erupted in cheer and applause as Macyn and Anthony were announced, with their beaming bridal party members lining the staircase, radiating enthusiasm. It was a moment filled with energy, celebrating the new Mr. and Mrs. Hansen!

As dinner was served, a dark storm loomed overhead, casting doubt on the possibility of sunset portraits.  However, heartfelt speeches from family and friends and the commencement of the first dances filled the evening with joy.  To everyone’s delight, the skies miraculously cleared just in time for sunset portraits!  Macyn and Anthony shared an enchanting and romantic moment under the most beautiful rays of the sun, their connection palpable and undeniable. It was a dream to capture their love and document their profound bond throughout the day.

The night drew to a close with a grand sparkler exit, marking the end of a day filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Macyn and Anthony’s wedding was a testament to the power of love, the resilience of joy, and the beauty found even in the face of uncertain skies. As their photographer, I feel honored to have been part of their incredible journey, documenting their remarkable connection and the beginning of their lifelong adventure together!

Macyn and Anthony, thank you so much for your kindness and welcoming us in with open arms!  We truly loved every second of your special day.  You two have been such a lovely pair to get to know throughout this sweet season of engagement and wedding planning.  Documenting day one of your marriage was such an honor and a day we won’t soon forget!  We know the two of you have great things ahead of you as you begin this new journey as newlyweds!  Cheers to you both, Mr. & Mrs. Hansen!
