Mr. and Mrs. Sax | Kern Pavilion – Lafayette Square Wedding | St. Louis, Missouri

Laurie and Steven’s wedding at the Kern Pavilion in Lafayette Square was an absolute dream! We had been looking forward to their wedding day ever since we met with Laurie earlier this year. The way she spoke about her wedding day with such joy and giddiness made us excited for everything the day would entail. Her eyes would light up when she would talk about marrying Steven. In that moment, we knew their love story would be an amazing one to document.

We were so lucky to have a beautiful spring engagement session in Columbia, Missouri with the darling pair. After our time with Laurie and Steven at their session, we knew their wedding day would be perfect! Laurie and Steven are the most down-to-earth couple and they truly enjoy being around each other. When they interact with one another, it’s as if no one else is with them. Steven just has to look at Laurie and she lights up. They are the definition of a couple truly in love.

Their beautiful wedding day began in a salon where hair and make-up was done. We were presented with vibrant details to photograph. We love Laurie’s taste; she had everything perfectly planned and put together down the tiniest of details. Her dress from Bhldn couldn’t have been a better choice. Her dress embodied simplicity and elegance. She chose such a timeless dress and we couldn’t get enough of it. Laurie spent the morning relaxing and getting ready for the big day while we photographed her gorgeous details. She was surrounded with so much love from her sisters, her mother, and mother-in-law to be. Everyone looked so excited on the morning of the wedding day!

Next, we drove across town to a cute apartment where Steven and his brother were getting ready. Steven appeared to be so calm and collected on the morning of his wedding day. We had a blast with these two! They have such a fun relationship and Jim kept Steven laughing with his witty sense of humor.   We decided to take some portraits outside of the apartment of Steven and his brother before heading back to Laurie. We couldn’t stop laughing when a guy drove by honking.   This gentleman thought Steven and his brother were a couple. He rolled down the window and yelled CONGRATULATIONS to Steven and Jim! It was probably one of the funniest things we have witnessed on a wedding day.

Laurie and Steven shared in a traditional ceremony at St. Mark’s catholic church in St. Louis. Their closest family and friends joined them as they officially tied the knot becoming Mr. and Mrs. They looked so happy as they made their way down the aisle as husband and wife.

After the ceremony, we headed to Lafayette Square where we captured bridal party portraits and portraits of Laurie and Steven together. This property is stunning and so well kept. The gardens are a dream! We have never seen a bridal party laugh as much as they did! It is evident that Laurie and Steven share such close relationships with their siblings.  The amount of joy and laughter we witnessed was everything we hope for on a wedding day.

Their reception space was amazing! The property looks like its straight out of a fairytale. The Kern Pavilion boasts beautiful windows and overlooks the lake. The scenery is picturesque with the large fountain and swimming swans and ducks. Their day came together beautifully with all of the details and personal touches. We loved all of the vibrant colors Laurie and Steven included in their day. All in all, it was truly a perfect day.

Laurie and Steven completely compliment each another. They are always smiling and they love one another deeply.   They truly are the perfect match. Laurie and Steven, we are beyond happy that we were able to witness day one of your marriage! We hope this new adventure gets better with each passing day! Your joy is contagious and we absolutely adored being surrounded by it on your wedding day! Cheers to many years of love and happiness!

Enjoy some of our favorites from their beautiful wedding day.
