Mr. & Mrs. Tres | The Atrium on 10th | Columbia, Missouri Wedding

When Terra from Plan It Terra reached out about photographing Hailey and Aaron’s wedding, I knew right away this day would be something special! Terra was planning a sophisticated and elevated celebration for this lovely couple, with earth tones and woodsy florals setting the tone. Hailey envisioned florals that looked like you had just stumbled upon them during a hike, wild, natural, and effortlessly beautiful.

Upon arriving on the morning of the wedding, Terra and her team were already hard at work preparing for the grand celebration. Terra’s attention to detail was evident in every corner. The ceremony space featured an extravagant fabric wall adorned with two large floral designs as the focal point. Nearby, a vintage lounge area was set up, complete with a perfectly decorated coffee table that seamlessly complemented the woodsy theme.

Hailey’s bridal details were absolutely stunning! The invitation suite was elegant, featuring multiple pieces that set the tone for the day. The florist provided us with the most beautiful blooms to elevate the shots. I always love playing around with the details, and this day had me in photographer heaven!

We headed over to The Broadway Hotel, where Hailey, her mom, and sister-in-law were getting ready. We captured a few portraits of them in their matching sweatsuits before it was time for Hailey to step into her gorgeous fitted gown. Her mom, Sandy, was all smiles as she helped Hailey into the gown, adding the jewelry and even the final touch, a veil that she wore on her own wedding day.

Next, we met with Tim on the roof of the hotel, where he was anxiously waiting to share a first look with his little girl! When Hailey tapped his shoulder, he excitedly turned around with the biggest grin on his face. He looked proud as ever in that moment, witnessing his daughter as a stunning bride.

But then came the moment everyone was waiting for, Hailey and Aaron’s first look. The wind was whipping around us, but when Hailey called his name and they walked toward each other, the world seemed to still. They embraced with the biggest smiles, and to top it off, the rooftop restaurant guests started cheering! Such a fun, unexpected moment of celebration!

Both Hailey and Aaron attended The University of Missouri, so it only made sense to venture back to their old stomping grounds for their bride and groom portraits. We strolled around campus, taking in the beautiful architecture and spring blooms in every direction. We were patient with the wind, snapping diligently when there was a pause in gusts. Hailey and Aaron were so giddy and couldn’t stop smiling around each other. The way Aaron looks at Hailey is the cutest thing to witness.

At Jesse Hall, their families joined us for portraits, and everything went so smoothly. Everyone was in such great spirits, so it made our job so easy. After portraits, Hailey and Aaron shared personal cards and meaningful gifts with their parents and siblings. It was such a heartfelt and thoughtful gesture that spoke volumes about the kind of people they are!

We ended our time on campus with a few final portraits in front of the iconic columns and Jesse Hall.  It was such a classic Mizzou moment.  We then made our way back to The Atrium on Tenth. Hailey and Aaron were tucked away while guests began arriving and were greeted with glasses of champagne from a champagne wall. Talk about an elegant entrance!

As guests found their seats, ceremony musicians played soft, romantic tunes. Hailey walked down the aisle with her dad.. Aaron’s smiled as he teared up and witnessed his beautiful bride making her way to him.

And just when guests thought it couldn’t get more exciting… SURPRISE!  In a fun twist, their officiant pulled back a cloth to reveal a large portrait of Hailey and Aaron standing on a mountaintop in Washington, with the announcement that they had actually ELOPED last year! The room erupted in cheers and gasps and laughter! It was such a fun and unexpected moment that made their ceremony truly unforgettable.

Afterward, cocktail hour kicked off with signature drinks and the cutest custom napkins featuring their pup, Lucy. The musicians kept the vibe going while guests mingled and admired all the thoughtful details.

Meanwhile, Terra and her team flipped the ceremony space into a glowing reception dream. Candlelight, romantic tones, and soft textures filled the room. Hailey’s dad gave a heartfelt speech that had everyone misty-eyed again before dinner was served. We snuck the newlyweds outside for a few golden hour portraits as the sun dipped behind the buildings.

Back inside, the evening continued with cake cutting, a beautiful first dance, and a DJ who knew exactly how to get the party started. Guests flowed between the dance floor and an outdoor patio where a cigar bar was set up for chill vibes and late-night laughs. And just when we thought the night couldn’t get any sweeter, Marcey from Wishflour Bakery rolled out a skillet cookie station. Yes, you heard that right—fresh skillet cookies served warm with ice cream and chocolate drizzle!

From start to finish, this day was magic. Terra and her team created something so memorable, and every piece came together flawlessly. Hailey and Aaron were glowing the whole day, and it was such a joy to be part of documenting their second (and just as special!) celebration!
