Devan + Chris | A Wildcliff Wedding with Reception at The Hollow | Blackwater, Missouri
There are some wedding days that just feel magical from start to finish, mand Devan and Chris’s Monday celebration was exactly that! On May 5th, 2025, these two tied the knot at the breathtaking Wildcliff, followed by an unforgettable reception at The Hollow in Blackwater, Missouri. Every detail was intentional, every moment rich with meaning, and we felt so honored to document the start of their forever!
We began the day at The Hollow, where the reception space was already glowing with warm, earthy tones thoughtfully curated by Devan herself. The palette of browns, tans, and soft neutrals set the tone for an intimate and inviting evening! Each place setting was personalized, every guest’s name laser cut and placed with care. It was impossible not to notice how much love and attention went into creating a space that truly reflected their love story! Guests were in awe. Honestly, so were we!
From there, we made our way to The Bungalow, where Chris was getting ready with his son, Chruz who was the best man, and his brother, Luis. Watching Chris and Chruz share these quiet, meaningful moments was something really special. There was laughter, a competitive game of pool, and a little help from Chris’s mom, Anabel, who stepped in to tie his tie and pin his boutonnière.
Then we were off to the cottage at Wildcliff where Devan was preparing for her walk down the aisle. Her gown was waiting on a mannequin, and before long, the space came alive with her sisters and daughter, Cevyn, buzzing around in matching pajamas! Devan’s mom, Shila, helped her into her dress, adding the finishing touches, a necklace and veil, before stepping back in awe at her daughter, now a bride! Just outside, Devan’s father, Alton, waited for their first look. The moment he turned around and saw her? Pure magic! He lit up, hyping her up and holding back proud dad tears.
One of the most touching moments of the day came next! Devan’s first look with her son, Chruz. When he turned around and saw his mom all dressed up, he cracked the sweetest smile, and Devan couldn’t hold back her emotions. We captured a few quiet portraits with her and the kids, and I swear, she and Chris have the cutest little ones!
After a few groom portraits, it was time to head to the ceremony site at the water’s edge. And wow, what a view! It was picturesque in every sense, elegant and serene!
Before Devan made her entrance, guests were treated to something incredibly personal: a spoken word piece written and recorded by Devan herself played over “Turning Pages.” Her words, a beautiful expression of love and admiration for Chris and the father he is to their children, moved everyone, Chris included, to tears. You could feel the emotion in the air before the ceremony had even begun.
Their ceremony was centered on faith, filled with genuine smiles, a unity candle, and shared communion. When they were pronounced husband and wife, they sealed it with a kiss, and then, as a family, Devan, Chris, Chruz, and Cevyn jumped the broom together, symbolizing the beginning of a brand new chapter!
After the ceremony, we moved right into family formals and bridal party portraits. It was clear how much family means to Devan and Chris, their entire bridal party was made up of siblings, their children, and nephews. It felt more like a celebration of generations coming together than anything else!
While guests headed back to The Hollow, we stole Devan and Chris away for some just-married portraits! They were so natural and connected in front of the camera, which made our job an absolute dream! Before heading to the reception, we stopped at the Cliff for one last set of portraits, and I have to say, some of our favorite romantic shots from the day came from that moment.
Back at The Hollow, the energy was high as guests eagerly awaited the arrival of the new Mr. and Mrs. Lopez! The room erupted into applause as they entered, glowing with happiness. Dinner was delicious BBQ, and live music from Ayron Alexander filled the space with soulful vibes.
The night continued with heartfelt moments, cake cutting, a beautiful first dance as husband and wife, and a choreographed dance between Devan and her son that had everyone on their feet cheering! Devan also danced with her father, and Chris shared a sweet dance with his mom. After that, the party truly kicked off! You wouldn’t have guessed it was a Monday night, everyone was fully present, and celebrating the love Devan and Chris share.
