On June 13, 2026, I had the absolute joy of photographing Makenna and Tyler’s beautiful wedding day at Kleffner Valley in Loose Creek, Missouri! Every detail of their day was thoughtfully planned, creating an elegant atmosphere that perfectly reflected the two of them. Soft green table runners stretched down each reception table while glowing candlelight added a timeless, romantic feel to the space. It was the perfect setting to celebrate such a sweet couple!
The morning began upstairs in Kleffner Valley’s gorgeous bridal suite, one of my favorite spaces at the venue thanks to the incredible natural light pouring through the four large windows. Everything was calm and running smoothly as Makenna spent the morning getting ready with all of her favorite people. Before slipping into her wedding gown, we captured some adorable pajama photos with Makenna, her bridesmaids, both moms, and the flower girl. These are always some of my favorite moments because everyone is relaxed, laughing, and simply soaking in the excitement of the day before everything officially begins!
When it was finally time for Makenna to get dressed, her mom and sister helped her into her gown. It quickly became one of the most emotional moments of the morning. As they saw Makenna fully dressed as a bride, happy tears began. Watching them take in such a meaningful moment together was incredibly special, and I’ll admit, I was doing everything I could not to cry behind my camera! Once Makenna was ready, the barn doors opened for a surprise reveal with her bridesmaids. The room instantly filled with excited shrieks and happy tears as everyone saw just how stunning she looked. One of my favorite moments followed immediately afterward when the flower girl looked completely mesmerized by Makenna!! Makenna knelt down beside her and wrapped her in the sweetest hug.
Outside, another emotional moment was waiting. Makenna’s dad stood patiently for their first look together. As she gently tapped him on the shoulder, he turned around with the biggest smile stretched across his face. Seeing his little girl as a bride instantly brought tears to Makenna’s eyes, and the two shared a long embrace while talking quietly together before the ceremony. It was such a beautiful reminder of just how meaningful wedding days are for the entire family!
While making sure the bride and groom never crossed paths, we photographed bridesmaid and groomsmen portraits outside. Although Makenna and Tyler chose not to see each other before the ceremony, they still wanted to share a meaningful moment together through a first touch. Earlier that morning, Tyler had surprised Makenna with a beautiful jewelry gift for her to wear throughout the day. During their first touch, Makenna gifted Tyler a watch, and his reaction was priceless. Even without seeing one another, you could feel the excitement and anticipation they shared as they prepared to walk down the aisle!
Their ceremony took place beneath Kleffner Valley’s beautiful new pavilion, surrounded by family and friends. It was short, sweet, and filled with joy! After exchanging vows and becoming husband and wife, guests erupted into cheers as the newlyweds joyfully made their way back up the aisle together as Mr. and Mrs. Lord!! Following the ceremony, we captured family portraits before heading out to the beautiful field behind the venue for bridal party portraits. Makenna and Tyler are surrounded by such a fun, energetic group of friends who made every photo effortless. There was no shortage of laughter throughout the entire portrait time!
Once we wrapped bridal party portraits, it was time for my favorite part of the day, photographing the newlyweds! Makenna and Tyler are one of those couples whose love simply shines through every photograph. They were constantly smiling, laughing, and soaking up every second together! They made every prompt feel effortless because they genuinely enjoy being around one another. Watching the two interact was such a joy, and I couldn’t stop smiling behind my camera while documenting all of the sweet moments they shared.
Back inside, guests welcomed the new Mr. and Mrs. Lord into their reception! They shared their cake cutting before listening to heartfelt toasts from family and friends that had everyone smiling, and maybe shedding a few tears. After enjoying dinner together, everyone made their way back out to the pavilion where Makenna and Tyler shared their first dances before the dance floor officially opened.
Just as the evening unfolded, we snuck away for sunset portraits, and the weather gave us one final gift! After a mostly cloudy day with even a few light sprinkles earlier, the sun finally broke through just in time for golden hour!! Warm, glowing light poured across the fields surrounding Kleffner Valley, giving us the most beautiful sunset portraits to end the evening. It couldn’t have been a more perfect way to finish documenting their wedding day! The celebration ended with an absolutely packed dance floor.
Makenna and Tyler are truly such a wonderful couple! Their kindness, genuine love for one another, and the incredible community of family and friends surrounding them made this wedding one I won’t soon forget!!
Makenna and Tyler, thank you so much for trusting me and my team to document the very beginning of your marriage! It was such an honor to document these memories for you, and I have no doubt that so many wonderful adventures are ahead as you begin this new chapter together as Mr. and Mrs. Lord! Congratulations again to you both! I wish you a lifetime filled with laughter, joy, and a love that continues to grow stronger with each passing year.
