Veronica & Aaron | Columbia, Missouri Engagement Session

Their Session

We spent a beautiful Thursday evening in Columbia with a darling pair and their lovable pup!  The weather was perfect and the light was golden and magical-just how we like it!  Veronica and Aaron were nervous in the beginning, but we quickly watched their nerves melt away within minutes of starting the session.  They were so easy to work with!  When a couple is so in love like these two, it makes your job a breeze.  The way they interacted with each other just looked so effortless the entire time.  It is clear that Veronica and Aaron are a match made in heaven!  They truly balance each other out and it’s adorable to see!

We began their session at one of our favorite parks in Columbia.  We strolled around following the glow of the pretty light and stopped at many fun spots!  We even took a little hike up to the top of a cliff for breathtaking views; I may have been out of breath by the time we got there, but it was definitely worth it for the view we were surrounded by!  We love how much fun they have with each other!  Aaron kept Veronica laughing the majority of the session.  Her facial expressions always showed pure happiness.

Next, we ventured downtown where we met their adorable doggo Archer.  He’s a Boxer/Lab mix and is as sweet as can be.  He was a little shy at first and a bit unsure of the downtown environment, but once he warmed up to the camera, he shined like he had been posing his entire life.  We just couldn’t get over his cuteness.  It’s obvious his parents are head over heels for him and we love that they rescued him and show him the love he deserves!  He wore the most adorable sign that read “My Humans Are Getting Married!”  We ended our time with them at Peace Park on campus as the sun was just beginning to set.  The light filtered through the trees ever so perfectly and had us swooning over all of the gorgeous images we captured at the end!  We cannot say enough great things about Veronica and Aaron as a couple!  They are just adorable and we cannot wait to photograph their wedding next spring!

How He Asked

Veronica and Aaron were set up on a blind date by mutual friends in October of 2014. Dinner plans were set, and they met at Glen’s Cafe at the Tiger Hotel in Columbia.  After dinner, they went to the bar and shared great conversation.  One week after the date, Aaron finally called Veronica for a second date.  The two began dating later that fall.  Veronica graduated from University of Missouri in December and accepted a position in St. Louis.  This meant that the two would be separated by a little distance, but that didn’t scare them. They both recall falling for each other quickly.  On a trip to St. Louis to visit Veronica, Aaron says he knew then she was the one for him!!  They made dinner together and Aaron pulled out all the romantic moves that night.  He played “Thinking Out Loud” by Ed Sheeran in the background while the food cooked, and the two slow danced in the kitchen! I mean, it doesn’t get much cuter than this!!!  I may be a bit biased since I am a huge Ed Sheeran fan!  They spent the night talking over a bottle of wine.  They both knew that night that this was it!  By July of 2015, Veronica moved back to Columbia to be closer to Aaron!

A little over three years into the relationship, Aaron knew it was time to propose.  He planned an anniversary dinner at Glen’s Cafe where it all began. He wanted to visit the magic tree at the Crossing Church after dinner where he planned to propose; however, it wasn’t lit up that night.  Veronica remembers Aaron saying, “It’s supposed to be on!”  Instead of proposing at the Magic Tree, he decided to improvise.  They drove back home.  Once there, he turned on the lights on their Christmas tree.  As Veronica  turned around from taking her shoes off, Aaron was down on one knee. He told her all the reasons he loved her, and then asked Veronica to marry him! Veronica was so excited and quickly said yes! She was so ecstatic, that she didn’t get to listen to everything Aaron had said, so she made him say it all again! How romantic! After Aaron proposed, Veronica  learned that her best friends had a group chat going because they thought he might propose that night! They even called the restaurant and asked the hostess to call them and give them details of when we got there and what was happening.

We are over the moon excited to share a peek into their engagement session!  We couldn’t love these images more and we cannot wait to get these two back in front of our camera next spring!  Veronica and Aaron, thank you for choosing us to be part of such a special season!  Enjoy some of our favorites from their gorgeous session!
