I cannot believe my little cousin, Abbey is already going to be a high school senior! I was 15 when Abbey came into the world, and now, here we are, 17 years later documenting such a special time in her life as she embarks on her senior year of high school!
Abbey has always been more than just family to me. Over the years, she’s become a friend! Our friendship blossomed through our shared love for Taylor Swift. Together, we’ve found ourselves lost in the magic of Taylor Swift concerts, dressing up together, and belting out some of our favorite lyrics.
Despite the miles that separate us—Abbey in Tennessee and me in Missouri—our summer time adventures have been a treasured constant. Each week spent in each other’s company has been filled with laughter, heartfelt conversations, and moments I’ll never forget.
As I’ve watched Abbey grow from a little girl into a beautiful young woman, I’ve been consistently amazed by her resilience, strength, and independence. She embodies the qualities of someone destined for great things, and her journey is only just beginning. It’s been an honor to witness her growth over the years! Now, as she heads into her senior year, I am beyond excited for what the future holds for her.
The Session
Abbey spent the summer curating the perfect outfit looks and she picked out so many great pieces, that we needed to make sure each outfit style got the attention it deserved. So it only made sense to document her session over two days. This allowed us to not only ensure we could use every outfit she hand selected, but it also allowed Abbey to achieve two separate looks with hair and makeup! It was a win-win situation!
On evening one, we traveled to Jefferson City, Missouri and documented the portraits at the capital and surrounding downtown area. Day two was a full day spent pampering and preparing for the session. Abbey had her hair styled by Alyssa with Magnify Salon and had professional makeup application by the talented Jayden Wren! We then traveled to Wildcliff in Blackwater, Missouri where we documented her portraits at the stunning wedding venue location. This location truly was a dream location for senior portraits because it has so much to offer all in one spot!
Abbey, you are truly a gem! Your spirit, determination, and kindness shine brightly, and I have no doubt that you will continue to light up the world in your own unique way. Documenting your senior portraits has been such a meaningful experience, one that I will cherish just as much as all the countless memories we’ve shared over the years!
Here’s to you, Abbey! Congratulations on reaching this significant milestone!! I am so proud of everything you’ve achieved and can’t wait to see the amazing things you will accomplish in the years ahead. As you navigate your final year of high school and step into new adventures, know that you have a cheerleader in me, always rooting for you and ready to celebrate every success you achieve along the way!
