Abby & Wyatt | Columbia, Missouri Engagement Session

We had the privilege of photographing Abby and Wyatt on a lovely Friday evening as we strolled around campus!  From the moment these two showed up, we knew their session would be effortless!  Half the time, we didn’t even need to give them direction; they just naturally fell into poses.  It’s no secret Wyatt keeps Abby laughing!  Every time he would whisper in her ear, her eyes would light up and a smile would fill her face!  We loved their giddiness and playfulness at the session!  They even brought their sweet dog Gunner to join in the fun!  He was such a ham for the camera.  You’ll soon learn about Gunner’s roll in their proposal story!  We just love when couples choose to bring their pets to a session.  Abby and Wyatt weren’t scared to have a little fun and we couldn’t get enough of their enduring love!  We didn’t officially meet this lovely pair until their session date, and we loved hearing about their love story.  We began their session at Mizzou because that’s where their story first began six years ago!

Their Love Story

Abby enrolled into Intro to Philosophy her Freshman year of College at Mizzou.  On the first day of classes, she looked around the lecture hall for any familiar faces to sit with!  None of the girls from her dorm were in the room yet, so she decided to pick a random seat.  She quickly noticed a tall, cute guy to her left! Abby and Wyatt disagree on who said hi to who first, but what they can agree on is that neither of them heard a word of lecture that day.  After class, Abby invited Wyatt to join her and her friends for lunch and the rest is history!  Since their love story began at Strickland Hall, it only made since to come back to the lecture hall for their engagement session!  Abby called to make sure it was okay for us to grab a few portraits in the seats where her and Wyatt first met!

After about a month of hanging out on campus Abby asked Wyatt if he was ever going to take her on a real date.  She recalls Wyatt nervously saying, “Uh, yeah sure.”  He took Abby on a classic dinner and a movie date.  After laughing through dinner at Olive Garden, the two went to see the Campaign.  Abby and Wyatt didn’t even care that the movie wasn’t very good, they were just so happy to be there with each other.

How He Asked

Last Christmas, Abby and Wyatt were taking their annual picture in front of the Christmas tree at her parents house.  Wyatt wanted to make sure their dog Gunner could get in on the Christmas cheer, so he went to get him! Their dog Gunner is an English Setter and loves to carry socks around in his mouth. Wyatt had put the ring box in a sock and Gunner was carrying it. As Abby and Wyatt posed for their picture in front of the tree,  Wyatt said that Gunner had something for Abby. Thinking Wyatt was joking about the sock being for her, Abby went to take it from Gunner’s mouth. That’s when she felt the ring box and Wyatt dropped to one knee. Abby immediately started cry laughing, pretty hysterically. That’s when Wyatt asked her to marry him and she quickly responded with, “yes I will!”  They were surrounded by Abby’s family as the special moment happened.  Everyone was so surprised and happy for the two!

We are anxiously waiting for their special day next March!  Congratulations you two! Enjoy some of our favorites from their engagement session!  They are just too cute for words!
