I met Bridget and Luke at Sinqefield Lake and Gardens on a beautiful May evening for their engagement session. They were a little shy in front of the camera at first, but warmed right up in no time. It’s always a pleasure any chance I get to photograph at this gorgeous location. There’s so many beautiful areas that make it the perfect aesthetic for portraits. I enjoyed all the perfectly manicured gardens. Every direction you look, it’s stunning. For the final location, we headed just up the road to the main garden and green house area. I have never been to this part of the property. I was amazed at all it had to offer. It was so perfect for golden hour.
Bridget and Luke made my job so easy. They have laid back personalities and they were willing to do just about anything to get the shot. I loved their fun and playful sides that came out by the end of the session. I’m excited to celebrate their wedding day later this year!
How They Met
Luke played on the same baseball team as Bridget’s brother throughout grade school, and they officially met at
a Fatima homecoming after party and started talking shortly after! Their first date took place at Steak and Shake in Spring of 2018! Bridget and Luke were both feeling pretty anxious for the first date but quickly felt comfortable talking about almost everything.
The One
Luke – “I knew that Bridget was the one when we started to remodel our house. There was definitely some ups and downs while remodeling our 100 year old farmhouse but at the end of the day we were always able to end the day laughing and making memories.”
Bridget – “I knew that Luke was the one when I got to watch him interact with our families. We both come from big families and are extremely close with both of our families. We are already blessed with 6 nephews and 2 nieces and I love getting to watch Luke be a big brother and an uncle!”
How He Asked
Luke was working on the house with Bridget’s dad when he decided to ask for her dad’s permission to marry Bridget. Once Luke got his approval, he went to pick out a ring. Because Luke is horrible at keeping secrets, he didn’t pick up the ring until the day before. The day of, Luke asked his little sister to help out by hiding some bales on the
farm to take pictures.
Luke had secretly asked Bridget’s friend to plan dinner for her and her friends so she would be dressed up and ready to go! As they were rushing out to go to dinner with Bridget’s friends, Luke told Bridget that he had lost a key on their farm and needed her help looking for it. They were already running late for dinner, so they rushed down to the farm to look for the lost key. As they walked out into the field, Bridget heard Luke start talking and when she turned around, Luke got down on one knee and popped the question! Bridget was so ecstatic and eagerly said, “YES!” They spent some time driving around to tell the news to their families. They got to end the night surprising Bridget’s best friends with the exciting news!
