Brooke + Tyler | Farm Engagement Session

I met with Brooke and Tyler at their home on a beautiful evening for their engagement session!  The sun was bright and golden at the start of the session adding a gorgeous glow to all of their portraits.  Brooke and Tyler were so relaxed and comfortable within a few minutes of beginning their session.  You could see they just enjoy being around one another, so documenting their sweet connection was effortless!  Tyler drove us around to several areas on the family farms.  Throughout the evening, the sun would pop in and out every now and again.  So we had an evening full of golden glow mixed with overcast skies.  We ended up including some of their cows in the background of some of the portraits and they turned out great.  These two  were so much fun to work with!   I’m so excited for their upcoming wedding day!

How They Met

Brooke and Tyler first met back in 2015 on a trip to Herman. Tyler came along on a trip to celebrate Brooke’s dads 50th birthday at the wineries with some mutual friends of their family. They didn’t talk much on that trip. Tyler says that Brooke didn’t even say hi to him, but she’s sure she did. Throughout the years after their initial meeting, Tyler and Brooke were around each other often because they had many mutual friends.  Finally in April of 2022, Tyler asked Brooke on a date.

In April of 2022, Brooke and Tyler went on their official first date, shortly after Tyler messaged her.  Tyler came and picked Brooke up at her house and they went out to a Mexican restaurant. The two had dinner and sat and talked for hours.  After dinner, Tyler dropped Brooke off at her house.  After that night, they both knew that there was a spark and that they wanted to go on another date!  Shortly after Brooke and Tyler began dating, they both realized they had found “The One!”

How He Asked

Brooke and Tyler had just gotten back from Mexico that Monday.  Everyone was joking with Brooke, insisting that Tyler was going to propose to her in Mexico.  Brooke knew him better than that.  She knew Tyler would want to do it with just the two of them in a more intimate setting.  Tyler’s sister messaged the family group message asking if they wanted to come to a BBQ at her house after Tyler’s nieces little league game.

Brooke decided to go to the little league game, but Tyler said he was doing hay and couldn’t go. Tyler said to meet him at his house after the game and they go to his sister’s house for the BBQ. When Brooke got to his house, Tyler said he lost his wallet in the hayfield and asked her if she would help him look for it before we left for the BBQ.  Brooke and Tyler went to the field and Tyler took her to the place he thought he lost it.  It turns out he had planted it there for Brooke to find.  When she turned around, Tyler was down on one knee.  Brooke was so surprised!  Her nails were all chipped from being in Mexico and my hair was a mess, but it was one of the best days of her life. After he proposed, they went to his sister’s  house.  Tyler and Brooke’s family’s were there to celebrate. Tyler had a meal catered in and they all just hung out together and celebrated. It was the perfect night for the newly engaged pair!
