We met Carey and Blake near the Katy Trail yesterday evening for a lovely engagement session! Perfect fall temperatures paired with a darling couple made for a wonderful evening! We enjoyed strolling along the trail with Carey and Blake and learning more about them as a couple! These two are cute as can be and made our job so easy from the beginning! Blake can easily make Carey laugh and he did so all evening long! Carey has the most genuine and contagious smile and we love how Blake brings that out of her. When Carey and Blake are around one another, it’s evident that they share an undeniable connection. As we ventured along the trail, we had to take a slight detour due to a portion of the trail being closed because of flooding. It was a bit of a hiccup in our plans, but that didn’t deter us from capturing great images of these two! They were up for an adventure and didn’t mind the change in plans!
Hand in hand, Blake and Carey strolled their way through the session looking as adorable as ever! We ended our time with them in the cute little downtown area of Rocheport! We adore the quaint town and all it has to offer. Every direction you walk, you’re inevitably going to find the cutest areas to photograph! We thoroughly enjoyed our evening spent with Carey and Blake! It made us even more excited for their wedding day!
Their Love Story
Carey and Blake first originally met in college through mutual friends and reconnected several years later. Fast forward to July of 2016 and Carey would ask Blake to grab a beer at Logboat. They were both nervous, but Carey did a lot of talking and intrigued Blake. The two kept in touch and began dating in October of that same year. Together, they have spent their relationship watching sports, tailgating for Mizzou games, eating out downtown, traveling and listening to music! Carey knew early on that Blake was the “one.” She loved how genuine and kind Blake was and knew those were qualities she wanted in her forever person. Things between Carey and Blake became very serious when they both went through some personal hardships. Through it all, the trust, support and love they share for one another other was incredible and they both realized how lucky they were to have found each other!
How He Asked
Carey and Blake purchased a home together and on the first night in the new house after returning home from dinner, Blake would propose to Carey! Carey was super exhausted and ready for bed, but Blake insisted they open a bottle of wine and go out on the back deck. Carey went along with Blake despite being tired. The two were watching their dog run around the yard while listening to some of their favorite songs. All of sudden, Blake wrapped his arm around Carey and told her how much he loved her. He then got down on one knee and pulled out a ring from his pocket! Carey was immediately shocked as Blake asked her if she would be his wife! Carey was so caught off guard because she figured that she would know when Blake was going to propose. We always love hearing when girls are actually surprised for the proposal! This proposal was so adorable and such a sentimental way to spend night one in their new home together!
