Cassie and Hunter were so much fun to work with! We had originally planned an engagement session in Jefferson City, Missouri. The weather had other plans, so at the last minute, we made a quick decision to switch the session to Columbia instead. The rainy weather in Jefferson City wasn’t going to dampen our time. Columbia ended up being a great decision! Cassie and Hunter came out dressed to impress and with their adorable connection, the evening was full of cute moments. We strolled around Capen Park taking in all the beautiful scenery. Cassie and Hunter are clearly a match made in heaven. These two were smiling and giggling all evening long and made my job a piece of cake. We ended our time in downtown Columbia.
How They Met
Hunter and Cassie actually do not remember the exact first time they met. They had always known about each other throughout high school and college but did not meet in person until fall of 2016. One of the main reasons they met was through mutual friends! Hunter and Cassie shared a mutual friend, Kenzy. When they would go out with friends and attend other social gatherings, Cassie and Hunter always ended up out at the same places. Hunter will always be sure to remind everyone that Cassie slid into his DMs a year or so before they actually met. But, he was the one who initiated meeting up a year later. From then on, Cassie and Hunter have pretty much been inseparable!
Cassie feels like from the moment she met Hunter, that she truly knew he was the one for her! A little fun story that happened before Cassie had even met Hunter — they always knew of one another through high school, so one of Cassie’s close friend’s, Holly, at the time was close to Hunter and a few of his friends. Cassie remembers Holly telling her how she thought Hunter and Cassie would be a perfect match; but he was dating someone else at the time, so she never introduced the two. Five years later, they met for the first time and the rest is history. Cassie met up with her friend Holly a few months ago, and they just couldn’t believe how everything turned out
How He Asked
Hunter originally had planned to propose on a family vacation to Colorado. Unfortunately, they had to reschedule the trip so hunter had to come up with another plan. Cassie’s parents and Hunter planned a weekend for them in Branson. They stayed in a little condo and planned to spend the next day at Top of the Rock. Cassie and Hunter took the golf carts through the trails of Top of the Rock which were truly so beautiful! They stopped throughout the trails to take pictures in front of waterfalls and caves. As Cassie and Hunter were coming to one of the last look out spots, she had noticed a lot of people walking away from the look out, so Cassie immediately booked it out of the golf cart to be one of the first out there and get a couple good pictures of the view. (Little did Cassie know, her parents were giving him the ring and preparing for the surprise) Cassie was out on the lookout taking a video when hunter came up next to her. Cassie’s parents took a few pictures of them and Cassie thought they were all done. Her parents said, “Wait! Let’s do one more picture.” Cassie began to start getting ready for the photo when she glanced to her left to see Hunter down on one knee! Hunter confessed his love for Cassie and asked her to marry him! Of course, she said yes!
