We knew when we met these two, their engagement session would be a breeze. Pun intended (; It was quite windy during the duration of their session, but we were still able to capture beautiful portraits. We met in a downtown Columbia Alley to begin their session on an overcast Sunday in March. We couldn’t complain though, because the temperatures weren’t as cold as they could have been, being it was the first weekend in March.
The story of how Clayton and Melissa met makes us smile! Their parents knew each other, but Melissa and Clayton had never actually met. As fate would have it, both of their families were attending the same tailgate before the Mizzou vs. Toledo football game a few years ago. The two were introduced and the rest is history. Melissa wanted to incorporate Mizzou into their engagement session. Since they met at a Mizzou tailgate, it would be fitting that we make a stop where it all began. The Mizzou football gates and tunnel made the perfect backdrops for their portraits.
For our final location, we drove to Ashland. We arrived at a beautiful property owned by one of their friend’s. The property boasts a gorgeous white gazebo that sits just on the waters edge of a private pond. It was such a romantic and dreamy location; I could have photographed portraits of them at the gazebo all day.
We are so lucky to get to work with such amazing couples. These two were such naturals! We loved how playful and fun they were the entire time we were with them. They are so comfortable around each other and it’s obvious that Clayton makes Melissa feel at ease. They share such a genuine connection and we truly enjoyed photographing this sweet season of their life. Enjoy some of our favorites from their session. We cannot wait for the Big Day in August!
