I met with Danielle and Bobby in St. Louis for the most darling engagement session. As soon as these two arrived to the session, I knew it would be a great one! Danielle and Bobby were dressed to the nines and their adorable personalities stole the show. We strolled around the downtown area and enjoyed the beautiful views the city has to offer. I love when couples want to add variety to their final gallery by visiting two locations that are very different from one another. With downtown giving us all the urban vibes, it only made sense to visit Forest Park for some nature scenery. We were joined at the park with Danielle and Bobby’s two sweet dogs. We had so much fun documenting their love and chasing the gorgeous golden hour light. Congratulations to this incredible pair!
How They Met
Bobby and Danielle first matched on Bumble in the beginning of the pandemic. Danielle’s best friend suggested she download the app since she was a busy resident and normal dating during covid wouldn’t be an option. Danielle swiped right because she thought Bobby’s pictures were adorable and he specifically mentioned that he didn’t like people who didn’t return their shopping carts at the store. He also had a blurb on there saying to not to just say “hey” to him, but ask him a question or at least insult him. So of course the first message Danielle sent when they matched was “hey”. He was immediately sassy and insulted Danielle’s love for the Boston Red Sox. He was literally the only guy who had a list of questions in store to get to know Danielle… like her favorite book, favorite movie, what she likes to do for fun, favorite drinks, favorite foods, etc. He was super personable and funny. He asked Danielle to meet up when the quarantine had effectively closed all restaurants and normal places to have a date. Luckily, they were both so desperate to get out of the house that covid couldn’t stop them.
Bobby proposed an idea of going to Forest Park for a picnic one Saturday. Danielle’s family and friends were immediately up in arms that he would likely murder her. It only got worse when he asked if Danielle wanted to meet at his house for drinks first. At that point, Danielle was willing to drive two hours and risk being murdered to go do something, so of course, she said yes. When Danielle arrived to his house in Soulard, it was a beautiful old house from the 1800s and she decided that would be a good place if she did have to be murdered that day. Luckily for Danielle, he opened the door and she immediately thought “wow he is much cuter than his pictures”. She could tell he was nervous, but he was incredibly sweet. Danielle had mentioned in her list of favorite things that she loved pineapple, so he had made her frozen pineapple margaritas. Bobby had everything ready to go. The two hopped in his car and they went to pick up their to-go tacos.
As Danielle and Bobby walked to the window to get their order, they asked for a name. “Bob” he said in his weird St. Louis accent (Danielle is from Arkansas and had never heard anything like it). She was immediately wondering who’s food they were stealing and who the hell was Bob if this person paid for their order. It took Danielle a few minutes to put two and two together and realize it was him. He will always be Bobby to Danielle. They finally ended up at the lake at the Muny in Forest Park where they had an awesome lunch of tacos and pineapple margaritas. Danielle is super messy so she had food all over herself. Bobby was so sweet and ran back to the car to get Danielle a wet wipe. When he handed it to her, she immediately realized it was a clorox wipe not intended for skin. They had a good laugh and Danielle will never let him live that down.
On this date, Danielle had realized she had lucked out that no-one had snatched him up yet. She thought Bobby was literally the sweetest, sassiest, and most thoughtful human she had ever met. After their park picnic, they decided to go back to Bobby’s house and watched a classic film, Borat. Leaving, Bobby bent down to hug Danielle, and being 5 feet 7, she thought he may have been shorter than her. Danielle says she’s clearly not a good enough person to date someone shorter than she is. Driving back, Danielle called her friend who encouraged all of this and told her that he could totally be the one, however not if he was shorter than her. It was a whole week of Danielle wondering if Bobby was really shorter than her and she kept wondering how she didn’t notice it before. Luckily, Bobby and Danielle would share a second date the next weekend and she quickly realized that she is not the giant she thinks she is. Danielle didn’t tell Bobby this for months.
In May of 2020, Danielle and Bobby began officially dating. That weekend they became an official couple was when Danielle realized Bobby was the one. They went to the the Doghaus, a dog park with a bar in his neighborhood and took Danielle’s two fuzzies. This was the second time he was meeting them but their first time at his house. Bobby welcoming them into his house and life was great, but if her dogs didn’t love him, it would be a deal breaker. So when Danielle arrived and Bobby had gotten them custom St. Louis cardinals treats, they were immediate fans of his and sold. They went to the dog park and got some drinks. They sat in the corner, kind of out of the way so they could talk. Well, they didn’t know that all the dogs there used this corner as their bathroom area, so after the 4th dog came and pooped near them, Bobby began picking it all up. He also picked up Charley’s on the walk over and it was massive. These were all positive things. But it was when Bobby grabbed her face in the dog park, kissed her and called her beautiful that Danielle knew she could love this man. It was a few weeks later in Kansas City in a parking garage outside of a nightclub where Bobby first told Danielle he loved her (romantic I know), and she knew then that she had met her person and loved him dearly.
