I met with Elizabeth and John at Wildcliff for their engagement session! These two are set to get married here next year, so they were so excited to plan their engagement session at their wedding venue! Wildcliff is a beautiful property with so many location opportunities. We were blessed with a beautiful September evening for their session. I enjoyed getting to know Liz and John better as we chased the gorgeous golden sunlight. Whether by the waters edge, up on the cliff, or in the fields on the property, every snap of the shutter was beautiful! Liz and John’s personalities truly began to shine throughout their session. I cannot wait to work with this funny pair again next year!
How They Met
Elizabeth and John met through work. They spent three months in a training program together. Elizabeth remembers him because she says John was the only cute guy in the whole class! John first remembers hearing Elizabeth laugh! Liz was laughing because she was given men’s extra-large uniform pants. John thought the laugh sounded beautiful and when he looked over at her for the first time, he swears he fell in love!
For their first date, Liz and John decided to go on a hike! Liz told John he could choose the trail as long as it was not the Shooting Star Trail. So John took Liz to the Shooting Star Trail. They were already best friends so it was a very laid back first date! They talked about what they wanted for their future and how much they both wanted to hike Angel’s Landing in Zion National Park. Liz %100 knew after that date that John was going to propose at the top of Angel’s Landing!
How Did You Know you Found the One?
Liz: “I knew John was the one before our first date. Our training program was coming to an end and I was so sad because I wasn’t going to get to see him everyday anymore.”
John: “I remember thinking I wanted him in my life forever. As I heard her laugh for the first time and looked upon her, I knew she was the one.”
How He Asked
John proposed at the top of Angel’s Landings like Liz predicted! John had been telling Liz she needed to get her expectations back under control because he wasn’t going to propose. The whole hike to the top Liz could tell John wasn’t his usual self. She was a little worried he was getting sick from the climbing. They spent a while sitting on the edge of the cliff. Then John got down on one knee and asked if Liz would marry him. she said, “I knew it. I was right!”
