We recently traveled to Sullivan, Missouri for Emily and Blake’s engagement session, and we couldn’t be more pleased with how everything turned out. It was an extremely overcast fall day, and though there was a lack of sunshine, the images still pop with vibrant color! Emily’s parents own a large amount of acres, so we spent our evening strolling around their gorgeous property full of rolling hills. It took a bit for Emily and Blake’s nerves to melt away in front of the camera, but once they did, their personalities really shined through! These two are cute as can be! They have an easy way of making you feel like family friends with their down to earth hospitality! We loved every minute of our time with them, and the beautiful scenery left us excited for the wedding day.
Their Love Story
Emily and Blake met each other when they were about 10 0r 11 years old. They would always see each other throughout the years at 4-H, the fair, and with family friends. Emily says that Blake’s dad tells the story best – He is the veterinarian in town and came out to her parents house to check on Emily’s fair hogs one year when she was in 4th grade. Emily was home alone and Blake’s dad admired her maturity. When he returned home from work that evening, he told his boys that one of them needed to marry “The Reinhold Girl.” Blake took his advice, and is indeed marrying Emily, the Reinhold girl! They didn’t actually begin officially dating until high school. The two shared a chemistry class together at Sullivan High where Blake would continuously text Emily asking if they had homework due the next day even though they may not have had class the next day due to the block scheduling. They shared their first real moment at Emily’s brother’s 21st birthday party. She was a junior in high school and he was a senior. They rode horses all day and a few weeks later, they attended the National FFA Convention together and the rest was history.
The Proposal
For Christmas, Emily’s dad purchased concert tickets to see Kenny Chesney, Thomas Rhett, and Old Dominion at Busch Stadium for both of their families. They began counting down the days to the concert in July! The time had finally arrived! It was concert day! Anyone who knows Emily, knows that she LOVES concerts, especially Thomas Rhett. Earlier that day, Blake and Emily attended a wedding in Fulton, MO before heading back to Emily’s parents house.When they arrived at her house, Blake stated, “let’s just go in and see what everyone is doing and then we will come back out to get our bags.” As they were walking up the front porch steps, Blake turned around and got down on one knee to propose. Emily was so shocked and respond with was “are you serious?” The sweet moment was made even sweeter because both of their families were their to witness the big moment! To celebrate, they popped some champagne and then headed to the concert to for a fun night!
Emily and Blake are such a sweet pair and we couldn’t be any more happy for them! We are so excited to see what the future holds for these two. Enjoy a peak into their pretty fall engagement session! These two are too cute for words!
