Woodsy Winter Styled Shoot | Columbia, Missouri

Today, we share a sweet little project we put together in a week! I met another photographer, Brittany, from Wisconsin through Instagram. She realized my husband and I would be photographing her cousins wedding that she would soon be traveling in for. She asked if I knew of any styled shoots happening in the central Missouri area for the weekend of her cousins wedding. After a bit of searching around for styled shoots and workshops, I immediately thought that we could plan a simple yet elegant bridal styled shoot of our own. Enter Emily! Emily, is our wonderful assistant that has been helping on wedding days and sessions for the past several years. We absolutely adore Emily and her spunky personality. With a background of competing in pageants throughout her teenage years, we knew Emily would be the perfect model for the session we were dreaming up! When I asked Emily if she would be interested in modeling as a bride for the day, she was all in!

With a dress from Amazon and bridal bouquet from Tiger Gardens, our Woodsy winter themed shoot was coming together perfectly! We knew of the most beautiful wooded area in Columbia that would provide the perfect backdrop for the shoot! Everything was set in place and when the day of the shoot finally arrived, we were super excited. The weather was perfect and though it was supposed to be cloudy all day, we were blessed with gorgeous rays of sunshine. The session went perfectly and we loved every second of it! It was great to finally meet Brittany in person! Together, we were able to capture some beautiful portraits. There is something special about creating shoots just for your own personal style. No time restraints, no pressure, just you and your camera, creatively capturing what YOU want!

Emily made such a stunning bride! Even, if she was just styled, she looked as beautiful as ever! Emily is one in a million and we feel so lucky to have her as part of our team during wedding seasons. She brings so much fun to each day. She becomes a best friend to a bride on the wedding day making sure she looks flawless for all portraits. She is the keeper of our schedule, my phone, sometimes my keys, and my sanity! She tells me when I should eat a snack and take a drink of water. It’s easy to get in the zone on wedding days, that you forget to do things like eat or take bathroom breaks. We don’t thank Emily enough for all of her hard work. Each wedding we photograph is tremendously better with the presence of Emily! She is just your go to girl and knows exactly what to do to help the day run as smoothly as possible! Wedding days just wouldn’t be the same without her there. Emily, you are truly one-of-a-kind! We love having you as our number one behind the scenes girl. We truly appreciate you and all that you do for our team! Keep your spunk and fun loving personality! You are hilarious and never fail to make me crack up laughing on wedding days. You my friend are such a gem! Thank you, Thank you for putting up with all of my wedding day shenanigans.
