I’ve been in Nashville, Tennessee for the past couple of months enjoying the slower season. Now that fall is just around the corner, busy season is upon us! I had so much fun with Kelly and Zach for my first session back in Columbia last week! These two met me downtown and we strolled around stopping at many places along the way as we documented their sweet connection. I love how genuine Kelly and Zach are. Smiles and giggles were non stop throughout the evening.
Next, we ventured to Hinkson Creek Trail where Kelly and Zach frequent with their dog, Tucker. There, we met Kelly’s sweet friend who brought their dog along. Tucker was hyper and so excited to see Kelly and Zach. When Tucker first arrived to the park, he was zooming around the big open field. Once Tucker joined in the photos, he did a good job sitting for a few seconds at a time. He was just so excited to be at the park! We spent the rest of the evening visiting pretty spots at the park while chasing the golden light! Could not have asked for a better evening with these two!
How They Met
Zach would see Kelly around town in random places. He was actually doing a job at a VU building right when it opened and Zach would see her around the office. He would also see her at Wilson’s but was always too nervous to talk to Kelly. Though Zach had seen Kelly many times, the two wouldn’t actually first talk until Kelly messaged Zach on Bumble.
Kelly and Zach’s first date was unfortunately the beginning of COVID. It was back in May 2020 and the only thing open was Andy’s! They got some ice cream and sat on the tailgate. They both felt like it was very natural and it somehow did not seem like their first date! Kelly and Zach started dating in May 2020, in November 2020 they both got sick and had to quarantine together for the 10 days. Being stuck inside with one another (both sick and losing taste and smell) made them realize that they had found their person!
How He Asked
Zach was very nervous all morning on the day of the proposal but was trying to act cool! He didn’t know where it was going to happen on the bike ride, but he knew it would happen on the bike ride. After going by multiple spots that could have been “the spot” Zach finally decided at the last bridge that it was the one! Kelly was on a mission to make it to their destination so they could eat the lunch they packed. Zach had no idea how he would get her to stop on such a hot bike ride so he had to come up with something quick! Luckily, there were some turtles. Kelly had no idea it was coming!! As they rode across a bridge and Zach said, “Let’s stop and look at the turtles!” Kelly was so hot and hungry and did not want to stop. Zach ended up proposing on the bridge and it made it all worth it! It was just the two of them which made it was so special!
