I met with Lauren and Jett in Jefferson City last week for a late fall engagement session! It was a gloomy day, but these two made the session so fun. I enjoyed taking in all the fall scenery as we strolled around the paths. Documenting Lauren and Jett’s sweet connection was easy as ever. It’s very evident these two are meant for one another. It took a bit for them to both fully warm up to the camera, but once they felt comfortable, their endearing personalities started to shine!
How They Met
Lauren and Jett met in the early summer between their Junior and Senior year through a mutual friend. They also went the the same career center. For their first date, Lauren and Jett went gravel roading and just talked the entire time and got to know each other. It was June 20th of 2020, and when Lauren first saw Jett and actually started talking to him, she felt like it was literally love at first sight, to which she never believed in until she met Jett.
By October of the next year, Jett knew it was time to pop the question. It was Lauren’s birthday, her parents and his mom, grandparents were going to go to Coltens for her birthday dinner. Lauren got to Coltens after she got off work and Jett was already inside. Lauren thought it was odd at first because she figured they would walk in together. As Lauren walked into the restaurant, she noticed Jett’s uncle, aunt, two cousins, and a really close family friend sitting at their own table. Lauren was kind of surprised to see them there, but ultimately just thought it was a coincidence.
Everybody knew except for Lauren… there was a birthday celebration that was before hers and then it was Lauren’s turn. The waitress asked Lauren to stand up and Lauren thought, “that’s weird,” because they didn’t make the other kid stand up. At this point, Lauren saw one of Jett’s cousin’s take out her phone, pointing it towards her. It was then that Lauren knew exactly what was happening… she turned around and there was Jett, down on one knee!
