I officially met Liz and Justin in downtown Jefferson City, Missouri for their engagement session. Right away, I knew it would be so easy to document their connection. Liz and Justin light up around each other and you cannot help but smile when you are in their presence. We strolled around downtown Jefferson City enjoying the beautiful March weather. Next, we traveled to a nearby farm where Liz and Justin’s true personalities came out. They were right in their element as we stopped in the open fields as the beautiful sunlight poured through the trees. We were joined by their sweet dog towards the end of their session, and he was such a little ham for the camera. We finished the session with a bang at a local fire department where Justin is a captain!
How They Met
Justin went out on the Osage River down in Osage Bend with his two buddies, beer, and his boat on August 11, 2018. Liz went out on the Osage River down in Osage Bend as well with her friends on a pontoon. The pontoon Liz was partying on tied up to another pontoon (Justin’s uncle and aunt’s pontoon) which had Justin’s boat tide up too. Justin & Liz locked eyes and introduced themselves to each other. Justin messaged Liz on Facebook after that day, but Liz played hard to get. Liz saw Justin multiple times hanging out at tractor pulls, rivers, bars, etc after that day, but never messaged him back. Liz finally messaged him back in October 2018. The rest is history!
Their first time hanging out together was Friday night before opening day of deer season. Liz and one of her friends went to his family’s farm to play corn hole. Liz got to meet the Braun family that night, which was a little intimidating, but she fit in well with her outgoing personality. Liz happened to beat Justin in one game of corn hole, which she never lets him forget! They had a great time and enjoyed each other’s company!
Liz knew Justin was the one after Easter that year. He supported her through ups and downs, always knew what to say when Liz was a hot mess, and is a big teddy bear. Justin has a genuine soul, always there when needed, supportive, respectful, loyal, funny, and has a heart of gold! Justin knew Liz was the one after she finally got to meet his entire family and everyone just loved her. Family is very important to him and that was the icing on the cake.
It’s so evident that Liz and Justin are meant for one another. They are very involved with helping the public. Liz is an ICU RN while Justin is a firefighter captain, first responder, and hazmat member. Liz and Justin can never sit still, but always doing something. They enjoy taking the boat out on the river or taking Ranger rides. In the summer, they enjoy watching and playing softball. They also enjoy watching Netflix series together like Yellowstone, 1883, Good Girls, etc. Liz loves to shop, but Justin hates it unless it involves Bass Pro. Liz loves to drag Justin along shopping to push the cart! They love to have central dairy ice cream dates which usually includes a large ice cream for them both! They both LOVE Mexican food and are suckers for queso and chips. Liz and Justin can make a good time out of anything we do.
How He Asked
Liz and Justin purchased a house together September 1, 2021. They decided to remodel parts of the house in 7 weeks because Liz had a week free from nursing school to pack and move in. Justin decided to throw a very happy surprise into moving weekend. On Sunday, October 17, 2021, there was only a few family members coming over to take a picture of us in front of the house. Before long, it felt like everyone and their mother’s uncle was standing in our front yard taking pictures of us. After all pictures were taken,Justin walked inside “to get something.” He walked back outside with a sign that said “God Gave Me You,” and said it was my house warming gift. I was totally in shock because Justin NEVER goes to hobby lobby and he gave Liz a sign from hobby lobby! Anyway, she turned around to show everyone the sign and Justin got down on one knee behind Liz! Liz turned around and of course she said yes!!!!
