When Lyndsie mentioned she and her fiance’ would like to go to St. Louis for their engagement session, I was so excited! I LOVE every opportunity I get to photograph at Forest Park. There are so many beautiful spots there, the possibilities are endless! I love how elegant portraits look at Art Hill, while you can achieve a more casual vibe just a few minutes away in the park! I had so much fun with Lyndsie and Cordale! They were truly such gems to work with. Their giddy personalities made these portraits come to life. You can tell these two share a very special connection!
Once they changed into their casual outfit, I really got to see their fun and goofy sides. They were so playful with each other. I think it’s so cute when couples can let their guard down and just act like big kids with one another. I had them do a lot of silly little poses and prompts and these two did not disappoint. They cracked up laughing every few seconds. Their joy was truly palpable! I cannot wait to work with this sweet pair again for their wedding day!
How They Met
Lyndsie and Cordale met on Bumble- the site where the girl has to reach out to the guy first in late September 2021. Since Lyndsie is a little more shy, this is typically totally out of her comfort zone. She never thought that app would have brought her to marriage. Lyndsie and Cordale met for the first time in person on October 5, 2021.On October 5, 2021 we met for the first time in person.
Their first “date” was driving around in Cordale’s Camaro, all over Jefferson City. The two drove around for two hours, and Lyndsie just knew Cordale was the guy for her when he started his playlist- playing 2000’s R&B the whole time. Lyndsie was sooo nervous- for a few reasons. She downloaded Life360 so that her family could tell where she was if she stopped responding. (After the date Lyndsie realized she never actually logged in to the app, so it wouldn’t have been any help).
Lyndsie was also scared because when they met, Cordale was 25. And to her that was old! Lyndsie was only 21, so to her, she saw him as a mature, older man who had life figured out. (She quickly came to realize he’s still got that cute childish personality, and 25 is NOT old). Lyndsie was terrified she was going to shut his Camaro door too hard- her dad has a Trans Am, had it her whole childhood and Lyndsie distinctly remembers when getting into any of his vehicles, her dad would say, “Don’t slam the door!” Lyndsie was so scared she would accidentally shut those heavy Camaro doors too hard. Turns out she did just fine, because look where they are now! At the end of their first date, when Lyndsie got out of the car, Cordale said, “Maybe I’ll see you again.” Lyndsie took that as if he wasn’t sure if he’d see her again, but he actually meant it to be a question. Lyndsie was overthinking all night after he dropped her off!
The One
Lyndsie: “I knew that Cordale was the one when he met my kids for the first time- the night we made it “official”. My cousin was leaving to move to Texas, and he came with me to his going away party. It was a lot to ask of him, being that he was not only meeting my children, but majority of my family that night as well. My kids warmed up to him immediately. They wanted to play with him and show him all of their cool tricks! Within months he took on being a father and treating them both as his own.”
Cordale: “Whenever the going gets tough we always come together and find a way over whatever it is. I knew that it was somebody I could spend my life with that would never give up!”
How He Asked
Lyndsie and Cordale got engaged on 6/1/24, and for a few weeks leading up to that day, she kept feeling like maybe it was coming soon. Cordale had Lyndsie book fill appointments for her lashes and nails. He booked a cabin at the Lake of the Ozarks for the weekend. He had Lyndsie purchase a dress for “her cousins graduation party”. So she felt as though it would possibly be that weekend. Lyndsie and Cordale took the kids to one of the overlooks of the lake, and he did it there! It was really special for Lyndsie, being that her kids got to be there to see it happen! Lyndsie shares that Cordale really does make their family whole, and she’s so excited for her kids to see him love them the way they deserve, and for them to love him the same!
