Megan & Austin | A High School Sweetheart Love Story
From the moment I met Megan and Austin, I could tell there was something special about their connection. Their energy together is calm and grounded, but you can also feel the years of laughter, growth, and shared adventure that have brought them to this point. It’s the kind of bond that only forms when you’ve truly grown up with someone, and their story is such a sweet reminder of how love can unfold over time in the most natural, beautiful way!
Megan and Austin’s journey began at the lunch table on the very first day of high school. By March 21, 2014, they were officially a couple. Their first date? A movie followed by dinner at McDonald’s (a classic combo if you ask me!) Megan was all smiles and excited, while Austin admits he was nervous and anxious, which makes me love this story even more. Isn’t that how all the best love stories start?
Over the years, their relationship grew through seasons of school, life, and shared adventures. While neither can point to a single “aha!” moment when they knew they’d found the one, what’s clear is that their connection has only deepened with time. As Megan put it: “Now, I couldn’t imagine life without my best friend!”
Their engagement story is one for the books. In September of 2023, during a hiking trip to Rocky Mountain National Park, they stayed in beautiful Estes Park, Colorado. One evening, they set off for a sunset walk around Estes Lake. Megan thought they were just grabbing a few golden-hour photos with a scenic backdrop, but as a kind couple snapped their picture, Austin got down on one knee and asked her to marry him! The sweetest twist? That same couple was celebrating their 30th wedding anniversary. Talk about serendipity!
When they’re not hiking or camping in places like Zion, the Grand Canyon, or the Rockies, Megan and Austin love to try new restaurants and cozy up for comedy movie nights at home. Megan admires Austin’s generous and selfless heart, always helping others without expecting anything in return. Austin loves Megan’s kind and caring nature, especially when it comes to animals (which is honestly the cutest thing).
Describing each other in three words, Megan called Austin kind, selfless, and funny, while Austin described Megan as authentic, adventurous, and considerate. It’s clear they see the best in each other and genuinely enjoy the life they’ve built together!
