Morgan + Andy | Billiards on Broadway Engagement Session

After meeting Morgan and Andy, we couldn’t wait for their engagement session to arrive!  Morgan has this infectious personality and contagious smile that you can’t help but want to be around.  Andy is more reserved, but looks at Morgan like she’s the only girl in the world; so we knew their session would be great.  Together, Morgan and Andy are the perfect pair!  When we arrived to Capen Park, we were met with warm fall weather!  It was such a nice change of pace with all of the cold weather that has been occurring lately.  Morgan and Andy came dressed adorably in their comfy and cozy fall attire.  The warm tones paired perfectly with the backdrop at Capen Park.  From the moment we began the session, Morgan and Andy made our job so easy!  They were so giddy and joyful.  Andy can easily make Morgan laugh.  Hand in hand, the darling pair strolled around the park as their love shined on camera.

Morgan and Andy share a love for Billiards on Broadway, so when we first met with them, she asked if it would be okay to end the session at one of their favorite spots.  I of course thought it would be such a fun idea to include a location that meant so much to them as a couple.  We ventured downtown and met Morgan and Andy in front of the pool hall.  For their second outfit, they wanted a more casual look, so they both wore jerseys from their favorite football teams.  They couldn’t have looked more cute in their sporty attire!  We luckily were granted permission to take a few photos inside of Billiards.  Morgan and Andy noticed the usual table they sit at was open so we quickly claimed the spot. Together, they enjoyed sipping their favorite beers on tap and stealing sweet kisses.  Morgan and Andy looked so comfortable and completely in their element.  It was great to see them really relax and unwind at their favorite spot downtown.  It was the perfect ending to a wonderful session.

Their Love Story

Morgan and Andy met in high school through a mutual friend.  They had seen each other at school and knew of each other, but never hung out until the infamous “poker night” at their friend Richard’s house.  That became a regular gathering spot where the friendship between the two solidified.  Their first “date” was spent at a local dive in Urbana, IL. Uncle Martin’s.  It was walking distance from Andy’s apartment, and just felt like a casual place to go.  They had only ever been “friends”, so they wanted to go somewhere comfortable without any added pressure of “date night”. When Morgan and Andy got there, they were very confused.  The menu had everything from Mexican to Italian, there were slots machines in the corner, and a singular pool table in the middle of the room and margaritas were on special.  It has become a running joke between the two of them but definitely made the night easier and gave them something to chat about.

Once Morgan and Andy made things official, they realized that things just organically developed and they knew they had both found the one they wanted to do nothing with for the rest of their lives.  The simple things like grocery shopping became fun.  The Friday evening Black Mirror binges and the Saturday morning coffee felt natural and easy. Morgan and Andy love to try new places to eat, test out new beers, and relax.  They both have high stress jobs, so the best part of their days is chilling out with their dogs.  They love to make homemade pizza, binge watch a new show, and spoil their beagle and pit-mix.

How He Asked

Andy proposed at the homecoming tailgate, on Morgan’s older sister’s birthday.  The timing couldn’t have been better.  After all, Morgan’s older sister Jessica got married on her 25th birthday. Fair is fair!  They now get to share their birthdays with each others special day as far as weddings go.  Since it was homecoming, the tailgate was full of their friends and family.  The proposal felt natural to them both – casual, sports centered, and comfortable. Morgan was under the impression the proposal wasn’t happening for a few more weeks, so she was definitely caught off guard! After the sweet moment, they were then surrounded by champagne, a dual Birthday/Engagement cake, and lots of smiles. Quickly after Andy proposed, they were back to playing bags (now as forever partners) and drinking tailgate beer!  We love how perfect this proposal was for Morgan and Andy as a couple!

Morgan and Andy are such a joy to be around!  We left their session so impressed with them as a couple.  They are cute as can be and make those around them feel like old friends!  We cannot wait to celebrate them next year when they officially tie the knot.  Enjoy some of our favorites from their gorgeous fall engagement session.
