Mr. and Mrs. Anderson | Sorenson Estate | Columbia, MO

On October 6, we woke up to a very dreary day with down pours of rain all throughout the morning.  They say that rain on your wedding day is good luck, but we were still worried about the Anderson wedding that was to be held outdoors the entire day. The week prior to their special day, we spent a lot of time diligently checking the forecast for a miracle.  It never looked to be in our favor so we prepared for a day full of rain and thunderstorms.  Upon arriving to their beautiful venue at Sorenson Estate in Columbia, we were surprised to be greeted with rays of sunshine peaking through the clouds.  We were hopeful that the weather would continue to improve, and it did just that!  Sarah and Mark were blessed with a gorgeous wedding day in the end.  Just in time for portraits, the sun came out and the rays hit the fall leaves ever so delicately making every image we snapped golden!  Just the way we like it!

We began the day with Sarah’s bridal details and my oh my were they amazing.  She decided at the last minute to splurge on floral bouquets and we are so glad she did! Tiger Gardens did a phenomenal job making Sarah’s vision a reality with pops of fall color and gorgeous greenery.  We had been waiting to photograph at Sorenson Estate ever since we met with Mark and Sarah last fall.  This venue is nothing short of amazing!  It is a photographers heaven with so many locations inside and out for portraits.  The old homes darling character had us swooning all day!  It was definitely the perfect place for Sarah and Mark’s intimate affair.

The afternoon was spent exchanging gifts and reading hand-written love letters.  Tears streamed down Mark’s face as he read the heartfelt messages from his soon to be wife.  He smiled through the tears as he opened his custom Ray Ban sunglasses.  Sarah shared a toast with her closet girl friends just before slipping into her elegant lace wedding gown.  She was all smiles as her mom and sister helped button the back of the delicate dress.  Once in her gown, each bridesmaid walked in the room one by one to catch a glimpse of Sarah as a bride. They all exclaimed the happiest cheers as they saw her.  Sarah looked absolutely radiant as she anticipated her first look with Mark.

The time had finally come for Sarah and Mark to see each other for the first time as a bride and groom.  We set Mark in place and he began to get emotional just thinking about what was about to happen.  We signaled to Sarah to make her way down the staircase and through the front double doors of Sorenson Estate.  She effortlessly glided down the sidewalk and tapped Mark.  He quickly turned around and shared the cutest first look with Sarah.  He embraced her telling her how stunning she looked.  They both teared up and smiled through their time together.  It was the sweetest thing to witness.  It’s moments like these that make our job worth it!!  Just as they signaled us that they were ready for portraits, the sun was coming out and we were ecstatic!  Throughout the afternoon, we enjoyed our time with Sarah and Mark and their bridal party!  They really made our job fun and easy.  Whatever we asked of them, they complied without hesitation.  If only every bridal party would be so easy going- it would make our job a breeze.

It was time for the ceremony outside under a tree.  A simple setup was in place for the two to say I do.  Family and friends trickled in just in time for the service to begin.  Sarah was guided down the aisle by her father and Mark cried and smiled at the sight of his bride making her way to him.  They shared in a short but sweet ceremony where they professed heartfelt hand-written vows to one another.  Mark got choked up every other word as he spoke his promises to Sarah.  After the darling duo exchanged wedding bands, the officiant pronounced them husband and wife.  The crowd erupted  in cheer and applause.  With the biggest grins stretched across their faces, Sarah and Mark made their way back down the aisle hand in hand.

We spent the remainder of our evening at a fun reception! Under a large white tent, we listened to lovely toasts for the newlyweds.  Once it was just dark enough, Sarah and Mark shared their first dance on the patio outside under the glistening globe lights. Sarah smiled and laughed as Mark twirled her around the dance floor.  After all of the first dances with parents, the DJ really got got guests livened up with his amazing playlist.  The patio was full at all times with guests having a great time.

We had been counting down the days for this wedding day, and it did not disappoint.  Ever since their engagement session last fall, we knew their wedding day would be amazing.  Sarah and Mark are such a wonderful pair.  They perfectly compliment one another.  Their giddiness and enduring love is undeniable!  They were both so emotional throughout the day and it was the cutest thing to see!  We love just how in love these two are.  It’s as if we weren’t even there when we were taking their portraits.  Mark even prepared jokes to read to Sarah to ensure she would have a genuine laugh and smile during photos.  No groom has ever willingly done this.  They have so much fun together!  Sarah and Mark aren’t afraid to be their goofy selves around each other and we love that.

Thank you for allowing us to capture your wedding day memories!  We wouldn’t have wanted to be anywhere else!  We felt so welcomed the entire day by your family and friends, so we are very thankful for the amazing hospitality we received!  Sarah and Mark, we know the two of you will accomplish amazing things together as a team!  We wish you the absolute best as you begin this new journey as husband and wife! Enjoy reliving the BEST DAY!  These are just a few of our favorites!  We think it’s safe to say your day was perfect in every way.  Thank you again for letting us share in day one of your marriage!
