Mr. & Mrs. Block | Capital Bluffs | Jefferson City, Missouri Wedding

Meghan and Evan were married at St. Peter’s Catholic Church on Saturday August 21 with a reception following at Capital Bluffs Event Center.  Their wedding day was perfection from start to finish!  We began the day at Capital Bluffs Event Center in Jefferson City, Missouri, where Meghan and her girls were preparing for the Big Day!  As hair and makeup artists were busy creating magic, we got to work with all of the pretty bridal details.  Meghan is very detail oriented, so we knew her details would be something special.  She had so many unique pieces that really set her details apart.

The morning was full of excitement and Meghan and her girls were all smiles throughout the getting ready portion of the day.  It was time to get Meghan in her wedding gown, and her mom helped her into the gorgeous fitted dress.  As buttons were fastened and the bow was tied, Meghan’s mom began to get emotional.  After jewelry was added and a veil to finish off the look, Meghan looked breathtaking.  We knew Evan would be all smiles later in the afternoon as he saw Meghan walking towards him at the alter.

Once Meghan was all ready to go, she wanted to have a grand reveal to all of her bridesmaids.  This reveal was made even more special when she included her grandma.  All the ladies waited to turn around to see Meghan.  As we said “three,” they all spun around and had the most adorable reactions to seeing Meghan as a beautiful bride.  Perhaps my favorite reaction of all, was that of her grandmother.  She looked so happy and excited for her granddaughter.   I share a special relationship with my grandma.  So I know how special that moment truly was for Lois.

Before the ceremony, we knocked out bridesmaid and groomsmen portraits nearby at the river access.  Meghan and her girls and Evan and his guys made our job easy as ever!  Everyone seemed to be having so much fun and they were all willing to do anything we asked of them.  They truly were such an easy group to work with. It was nearing the ceremony time, so we ventured downtown to St. Peter’s Catholic Church.  As the music heightened and the doors were opened, Evan had the biggest grin stretched across his face, as he saw Meghan for the time.  His eyes lit up the closer Meghan got to the alter.

Meghan and Evan were pronounced husband and wife within the hour and they happily dashed back up the aisle as family and friends cheered on the newest Mr. & Mrs. Block.  The remainder of the afternoon was spent photographing portraits of the full bridal party  and newlywed portraits of Meghan and Evan.  We had so much fun with this group.  Meghan and Evan are truly something special.  I adore their sweet connection.  Evan can make Meghan crack up laughing and they both have the most genuine smiles around one another.  Their love is effortless and their connection is endearing.  I know together, these two are going to do amazing things.

After portraits, we ventured back to the venue to kick off the evening with celebrating.  Their DJ got the crowd pumped up for the entrance as a tunnel was formed.  Toasts were made by family and the bridal party.  Meghan and Evan decided to scoop ice cream instead of doing the traditional cutting the wedding cake.  This is something I’ve never seen done before, and one thing I think more couples should do!  It’s so cute to see couples put their unique touch on the day.

The reception was spent dancing the night away!  Meghan and Evan have such a fun group of family and friends.  The dance floor was packed the majority of the night.  There was a gorgeous golden hour on Meghan and Evan’s wedding day.  We couldn’t miss the opportunity to steal these two away for some dreamy sunset portraits.  These portraits turned out stunning!  Before heading out for the evening,  we joined Meghan and Evan, along with their family and bridal party for a sparkler “send off!”  It was the perfect ending for the perfect day.

I cannot wait to see what the future has in store for Mr. & Mrs. Block.  Congratulations you two!  Thank you for allowing my team to document one of the most special days.  Enjoy some of our favorites from the day.
