As soon as I met Riley and Blake, I knew their wedding day would be nothing short of amazing! The way they spoke with such joy about planning their special day, had me so excited to work with them. Riley and Blake have an unguarded and pure love for one another. I loved every second I got to spend with Riley and Blake! They are affectionate and joyful when they are around each other. Documenting the love they share was so easy!
I began the day photographing Riley’s details while the girls prepared in the nearby bridal suite. There was an overflowing amount of excitement filling the air the entire morning. Blake got ready with the help of his dad. His look was finished with a custom bow tie he made from duck feathers. His family was standing around snapping phone pictures as the getting ready moments unfolded. Once hair and makeup was finished, we captured a few portraits of the girls in their matching PJ attire. Riley slipped into her stunning wedding gown and then did a bridal reveal with her mom, mother-in-laws, and bridesmaids. Everyone was overcome with the sweetest emotions as they turned around to see Riley as a radiant bride.
Before heading out for a first look with her future husband, Riley shared a first look with the first man she ever loved. Her dad spun around as Riley gently tapped his shoulder. He had the biggest grin and embraced Riley for the longest time. It was such a sweet moment of the day!
Next, we ventured to the nearby river access for the first look. Blake was anxiously waiting for Riley to arrive for the big reveal. Riley was set into place, her extravagant train was fluffed out, and she paused for a moment before calling Blake’s name. As soon as she called out his name, Blake spun around looking excited as ever! He rushed over to Riley and twirled her around so he could take in the full look.
We went right into bride and groom portraits. These two absolutely killed it! They are truly such naturals in front of the camera. They effortlessly fell into poses. Their connection is so genuine. I couldn’t help but smile from behind the camera as I documented this sweet pair! Their bridal party members soon joined them for portraits. It was so hot this day, but everyone followed directions so well and we were able to wrap up portraits right on time.
Riley and Blake were married at Ninth Street Christian Church in Eldon, Missouri with their close family and friends in attendance. Perhaps one of my favorite moments from the ceremony was their dog Rail as the ring Bearer. He walked all the way down the aisle, perfect as can be, holding a little basket in his mouth. Their sweet pup even sat up on stage the entire ceremony and behaved like an angel. Riley and Blake were soon pronounced husband and wife, and they sealed their nuptials with a kiss! After the ceremony and family portraits, we headed off the the Franklin family farm for some more portraits.
We ran a little behind when Riley accidentally walked into a tick infestation. I felt so bad that she had hundreds of little ticks all over her dress. We spent a good amount of time using duck tape to collect all the ticks off the dress. Riley was such a trooper and didn’t complain once about the unfortunate situation. Eventually, we made our way to Riley’s parent’s home where we took portraits with her horse. These were some of my favorite portraits of the day. The light was perfect and glowy and made for the most spectacular portraits of Riley and Blake! Their dog Rail even joined in some of the last few portraits. He was looking handsome as ever.
We headed back to Capital Bluffs in Jefferson City for an evening full of celebrating! Riley and Blake were announced into the reception as guests rose to their feet and cheered in excitement. Confetti was fired off from the balcony and poured down over the happy new couple! Speeches were made and Riley and Blake scooped Central Dairy ice cream for one another instead of cutting the cake. We stole the newlyweds outside during sunset for some beautiful portraits by the sunflower patch and lake. Riley and Blake couldn’t not have asked for a better day! It was perfect in every single way from beginning to end.
Back inside the reception, they shared their first dance as husband and wife before heading outside shortly after for their faux sparkler exit! Family and bridal party members waved sparklers as Riley and Blake dashed through the tunnel. It was such a sparkling ending to their day!
Riley and Blake, thank you so much for allowing me the opportunity to document your special day! I’ve had so much fun getting to know you both as a couple. You all have been amazing to work with! I want to wish you both the absolute best as you begin this new journey as husband and wife. Thank you for welcoming me and my team in and treating us like family all day. I cannot thank you both enough! Cheers, and congratulations to the new Mr. & Mrs. Boland.
