We joined Addison and her bridesmaids at her grandmother’s lakefront home in Macon Missouri. The girls were all getting ready for the day with hair and makeup while we got to work photographing Addison’s gorgeous bridal details. D-zine’s gave us so many extra fun blooms and greenery to use which really elevated the flat lays to another level! You can tell Addison put a lot of thought into selecting all of her details. Everything perfectly complemented her timeless neutral color palette.
Addison slipped into her beautiful gown with the help of her mom! Her mom became emotional once Addison had the veil pushed in place, finishing off her bridal look. We took advantage of Addison’s grandmother’s lake front property for a few bridal portraits and bridesmaid portraits before heading off to La Plata, Missouri. There was one disadvantage to this day and it was the fierce wind. It really gave us a run for our money. We worked diligently to take as many portraits as we could during the small breaks of gusting wind. Luckily, for some of the portraits, the wind was an added bonus as it made her veil dance.
We travleled to Addison’s parent’s home where the ceremony would be held later in the afternoon. There, we met up with Andrew and took his getting ready portraits, before heading outside for the first look. Standing under the large tree, Andrew patiently waited for the arrival of his gorgeous bride. The two shared an emotional first look, full of tears and smiles. They also shared handwritten letters to one another during the sentimental time. The rest of the afternoon was spent documenting bride & groom portraits and bridal party portraits. We once again battled the winds and tried to get as many portraits as we could while also patiently anticipating breaks in the gusty winds. Our patience paid off, because we were able to come away with so many beautiful portraits!
Addison and Andrew shared in an intimate ceremony outside on Addison’s family property. The ceremony setup was picturesque with gorgeous scenic views expanding as far as the eye could see. Their ceremony was short and sweet, yet full of sentimental moments. They decided to plant a tree together, symbolizing cementing their roots. I thought it was quite touching that they both used dirt from their family home’s during the planting and watering of the tree. As Addison and Andrew were pronounced husband and wife, they glided back up the aisle as husband and wife hand-in-hand. Several family members released confetti poppers and white confetti danced in the sky before falling to the ground!
Family and friends traveled to Kirksville, Missouri where the reception was held. The space was beautifully decorated! Guests cheered in excitement as Addison and Andrew were announced into the room. The reception was officially kicked off with cake cutting and toasts. We stole the newlyweds away just after dinner for a few romantic portraits. It had just been raining outside, but as soon as it quit raining for a bit, we dashed out and found a hidden gem of a location to document these portraits!
Back inside, Addison and Andrew enjoyed their first dance as husband and wife! The night was full of mingling with guests and people dancing. We are so glad we were there to document it all! Addison and Andrew thank you so much for welcoming us in and allowing us to document day one of your marriage! We loved visiting La Plata, Missouri and taking in all the beautiful scenic views. We wish you both all the best as you begin this new chapter as Mr. & Mrs. Fleak! Congratulations again!
