Kelly and Daniel were married the first day in November at Cooper’s Ridge in Boonville, Missouri! Surrounded by a tight knit group of family and friends, they pledged forever to one another during the intimate outdoor ceremony. The air was crisp and the brisk breeze lightly swayed the trees as golden light filtered through the autumn leaves just before sunset. The ceremony was short but heartfelt and everyone in attendance cheered as the happy couple was pronounced Mr. & Mrs. Gholson. The new husband and wife danced back up the aisle as Kesha played over the speaker. Kelly and Daniel exhibit pure joy when they are in the presence of one another. It’s as if they become lost in the eyes of each other. They truly are a dynamic pair. Their love is captivating to witness. We had so much fun documenting day one of their new journey as husband and wife.
Their day began in a flurry of excitement as coordinators and Kelly dashed around the venue getting everything set up to perfection. The cottage down the way was full of anticipation as Kelly, her mom and maid of honor got ready for the day. Kelly had gorgeous emerald green bridal details that had us so excited to photograph. In no time at all, it was time to get Kelly into her wedding gown. With the help of her mom, she was fastened into the dress, jewelry details were added, and a veil finished off the look. Waiting just outside of the cottage, Kelly’s dad Mitch waited patiently for his daughter to share a first look with him. Kelly glided out of the cottage effortlessly and made her way towards her father. A gentle tap on the shoulder, and Mitch spun around with the biggest grin.
Waiting nearby at the venue, Daniel was waiting to finally share a first look with his bride. It was really windy at the time, so the two decided to share a first look under the covered patio area. Kelly and Daniel shared one of the sweetest first looks we have ever witnessed. It’s as if the entire world stopped in that moment, leaving only Kelly and Daniel to share such a special time together. Kelly and Daniel wrote their own vows and wanted to share those with each other before the actual ceremony. Both of them are very private people and still wanted to opportunity to write their own vows without having to announce them in front of all their guests. Instead, Kelly and Daniel strolled down the hill near a tree and read their vows to one another as we stayed back at a distance ensuring they would enjoy their private moment.
The reminder of the afternoon, we spent photographing bride and groom portraits, and family portraits. We had so much fun with these two and their families! Everyone was so welcoming and had us feeling right at home the entire day. After ceremony, guests joined the happy couple inside the venue for a fun reception. After dinner, everyone corralled outside to watch a sparkling firework display. Guests were dazzled with the firework show for nearly 10 minutes. After the fireworks, everyone gathered inside for the dances. The rest of the evening was spent dancing the night away with the best of tunes.
Kelly and Daniel, thank you for including us in your special day! We truly enjoyed documenting your love story throughout this sweet season. Cheers to you both! Enjoy some of our favorites from the day.
