Mr. & Mrs. Kelly | Algonquin Golf Club | St. Louis, Missouri

Sally and Josh were married at Our Lady of Sorrows in St. Louis on October 3rd.  A reception followed in the evening at Algonquin Golf Club where guests joined to celebrate the new Mr. & Mrs. Kelly!  Their wedding day was cloudy and gloomy all day long, but that didn’t hinder us from documenting some of the most stunning moments.  Sally and Josh share a pure and authentic love for one another that is so evident when you’re in their presence that you cannot help but smile.  You feel an overwhelming happiness for these two because their love is truly something special.  The way Josh looks at Sally is the way every bride should be looked at on her wedding day!  He looks at her as if there is no one else in the room.  She is all he sees and it shows. Though it rained on and off the majority of the day, these two took the weather forecast in stride and had so much fun. We  were lucky to be able to have enough portrait time that we didn’t need to use umbrellas the entire time.  Every now and then, it would completely quit raining, enabling us to quickly capture portraits outside!

From the beginning of the day, things went perfectly!  In the morning, we met at Sally’s parent’s home where everyone was preparing for the day.  Everyone was so sweet to us and welcomed us in from the second we walked through the door!  As the morning hours passed on, Sally and her girls were finished with hair and makeup just in time to grab a few portraits with everyone in their matching monogrammed pajama sets.  The girls laughed and giggled on command and had fun with it!  Just before getting into her wedding gown, Sally opened a sweet gift from her hubby to be.  He had a special crest made and framed to months in advance to surprise Sally with.  Moments later, Sally’s mom was ready in her dress and was waiting anxiously in the living room to begin getting Sally into her wedding gown.  Her mom became emotional as she helped fasten Sally into the gorgeous form fitting gown.  Sally wore a piece of jewelry that was given to her mom on her wedding day 30 years prior.  As Sally slipped on the sentimental bracelet, her mom began to tear up.  It’s always moments like these that get me all emotional.

Once Sally was all ready to go and her long cathedral length veil was pushed into place, she waited outside for her father on the front porch.  We lead her father outside and soon he and Sally would share a sweet first look.  Sally tapped his shoulder and he turned around stunned at his daughter’s beauty!  Before heading off to church to capture some getting ready moments with Josh, Sally joined her bridesmaids on the porch for a few quick photos.  They all doted over how perfect and flawless she looked! We knew Josh would lose it when he would soon see Sally coming down the aisle.

We met with Josh and his parents at Church were they helped him get ready for the day.  His dad gently slid the jacket in place, adjusted the tie, and shook his hand telling him good luck!  His mom finished off the look by pinning on the simple, yet elegant boutonnière.  Josh asked us how Sally was doing and mentioned how he couldn’t wait to see her!  We told him Sally looked Stunning in her jaw dropping dress!  Josh’s eyes lit up and he exclaimed, “can’t wait to see my bride.”  It was finally ceremony time and a handful of guests joined at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic church to watch these two say their nuptials. Sally and Josh shared in a traditional catholic ceremony with a full mass and communion.  Once the Father pronounced them husband and wife, they shared a kiss and a bagpipe player marched down the aisle playing a tune in honor of the groom’s Irish heritage.

We took several family formals at the gorgeous Catholic Church before heading off to Lafayette Square Gardens in St. Louis!  We ventured to many pretty spots while we were there, sometimes even heading undercover during the light rain showers.  After documenting all of the bridal party portraits, we were off to the Central Library where we would take some of our favorite shots this year!  Sally and Josh are true models!  They made our job so easy and fun even with the on and off rain showers.  They truly were troopers with taking the day in stride, and we love that about them!  It was obvious that Sally and Josh care about what is truly important.  The marriage and just getting to be with each other.

After bride and groom portraits, we traveled to Algonquin Golf Club where their guest were waiting for the new Mr. and Mrs. Kelly to be announced in.  Before heading into the reception, we whisked the darling duo off to the greens on the golf course to grab a few last bride and groom portraits of the day!  Staff at Algonquin began motioning guests into the reception space.  The live band announced the bridal party in one by one and then got the crowd hyped up as they announced in Josh and Sally.  Everyone cheered in excitement as the reception was officially kicked off.  The cake was cut, sentimental toasts were given by the father of the bride, Maid and Matron of Honor, and best man.  Lots of laughter filled the room throughout the evening.  The band serenaded the bride and groom during their first dance and it was so fun to witness.

The rest of the evening was spent dancing the night away and hanging out on the large outdoor patio space.  It’s evident guests enjoyed the night celebrating the new happy couple.  There is one thing for sure, so much love filled the room all night long.  Sally and Josh are truly blessed with an amazing group of family and friends. We ended the night on a high note as we stole Sally and Josh away for one more romantic portrait moment outside at the back of the venue.  It was the perfect ending to a spectacular day!

Sally and Josh, thank you so much for allowing us to be part of your beautiful October wedding day!  We feel so honored and grateful you chose us to document your first day together as husband and wife!  We have adored getting to know you both and loved meeting all of your sweet family and friends. Everyone treated us so kindly and welcomed us in with open arms the entire day!  We are so grateful for you and your families.  Enjoy this rather large preview of the day!  We had a very hard time trying to narrow it down.
