Mr. & Mrs. Lopez | Capital Bluffs Event Center | Jefferson City, Missouri Wedding

Savanah and Isaac were married on May 30th at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jefferson City, Missouri, with a reception following at Capital Bluffs!  Although the day began gloomy and rainy, not even the weather could put a damper on the excitement and joy surrounding these two as they officially became Mr. and Mrs. Lopez!

The morning began at Capital Bluffs where Savanah and her bridesmaids spent the early hours getting pampered with hair and makeup.  As the girls laughed, chatted, and prepared for the day ahead, Isaac and his groomsmen eventually arrived as well.  The guys kicked off the day with a fun game day style walk in photo session before everyone settled in to get ready.
Soon it was time for Savanah to step into her wedding dress.  With the help of her aunt, she transformed into a stunning bride, all smiles and giggles as the reality of the day began to sink in!  One of my favorite moments of the morning was when she revealed her bridal look to her bridesmaids.  Tears immediately began streaming down several faces as they saw their best friend dressed as a bride for the very first time.  The room was filled with excitement, happy tears, and so much love!

Next came a special first look with Savanah’s brother.  The two share such a sweet bond, and their time together was filled with both laughter and tears.  This moment carried even more significance because Savanah tragically lost both of her parents in 2017.  Throughout the day, it was clear how deeply loved and missed they are.
There were so many beautiful tributes woven into the wedding to honor their memory.  At the reception, Savannah displayed her mother’s wedding dress on a mannequin alongside her father’s boots.  Empty chairs were reserved in their honor, complete with a corsage for her mother and a boutonniere for her father. During the ceremony, as Savannah and her brother walked down the aisle together, they paused at the pew where her parents would have been sitting and placed a bouquet there before continuing forward.  It was an incredibly emotional moment that left very few dry eyes in the church.

Despite carrying the weight of such a meaningful day, Savanah handled everything with grace and joy!  She was genuinely happy from start to finish, soaking in every moment and celebrating the beginning of this new chapter with Isaac.  Because of the rain, we tucked under cover at Capital Bluffs for bridal portraits and bridesmaid photos before heading outside briefly for the groomsmen portraits.  While the weather wasn’t exactly cooperating, everyone kept positive attitudes and rolled with the changes effortlessly.  Once photos were complete, everyone made their way to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where Savanah and Isaac exchanged vows during a beautiful traditional Catholic Mass.  Surrounded by family and friends, the two promised forever to one another before being pronounced husband and wife.  Within moments, they were happily making their way back down the aisle as Mr. and Mrs. Lopez!!

After the ceremony, we captured a few family and couple portraits before the wedding party loaded onto their party bus and headed to the Missouri State Capitol.  Before we started portraits, the maid of honor’s mom came to the rescue with Chick-fil-A, giving everyone a quick chance to refuel before photos began.  Savanah and Isaac are truly a dream to photograph!  They have such a natural spark and excitement around one another.  Every laugh, smile, and glance felt genuine.  Their connection is undeniable, and it is impossible to spend time around them without seeing just how deeply they love each other. They are playful, sweet, and completely head over heels!

The weather may have been rainy earlier in the day, but by portrait time it had turned into a hot and humid Missouri afternoon.  After exploring the Capitol grounds, everyone returned to Capital Bluffs where guests eagerly awaited the newlyweds’ arrival!  The reception kicked off with a high energy grand entrance as guests waved napkins through the air and cheered loudly for the new Mr. and Mrs. Lopez.  Throughout the evening, heartfelt toasts had everyone laughing one moment and tearing up the next. After dinner, Savannah and Isaac cut their cake before sneaking away for a few sunset portraits!  Even though the sun never fully made an appearance, we still had so much fun riding around Capital Bluffs in golf carts and capturing a few quiet moments together before the party continued.  One of my favorite unexpected moments of the entire day happened right after sunset portraits when Savanah officially changed her last name on Instagram and asked me to document it.  In eleven seasons of photographing weddings, I can honestly say that was a first!

Back inside, the dance floor stayed packed all night long as friends and family celebrated alongside the newlyweds!  The energy was incredible, the smiles never stopped, and it was obvious that everyone was having the time of their lives.

From the emotional moments honoring Savannah’s parents to the laughter, happy tears, and nonstop celebration, this wedding was truly unforgettable!  Savanah and Isaac created a day that perfectly reflected who they are and the love they share.  Mr. and Mrs. Lopez, thank you for allowing me to be part of such a meaningful day!  I wish you both nothing but the absolute best as you begin this new chapter as husband and wife. I cannot wait to see all the incredible things that await you in the years ahead!! Cheers to the newlyweds!
