Mr. & Mrs. Maasen | Jefferson City, Missouri Wedding

Hayley and Ashton were married on Saturday June 25, on what seemed like the hottest day of the year. These two are sweet as can be! I loved how chill and calm each of them were the entirety of the day. Even despite the extremely hot temperatures and high humidity, Hayley and Ashton had smiles plastered on their faces all day long. Hayley and her girls got ready at the Taos church hall, while Ashton and the guys got ready at the Wardsville Lions Club. They each read hand written love letters after getting ready. Ashton thought he was about to share a private first look with Hayley after getting ready. He was anxiously anticipating her arrival. As his shoulder was tapped, he turned around in shock when he didn’t see Hayley standing there. Instead, he saw his best friend Josh dressed as a bride. He even wore a wig! The surprise first look was full of many laughs.

Hayley looked absolutely radiant in her gorgeous wedding gown! She was so excited to marry Ashton! She did a grand reveal with her bridesmaids before doing one with her dad. Hayley and her dad shared a very emotional first look. It was so sweet to witness. She gifted him a sentimental handkerchief. It was finally time for the ceremony! Hayley and Ashton shared in a quick Catholic ceremony at St. Francis Xavier church in Taos, Missouri. Once all the family formals were finished, we went back outside to brave the heat with the wedding party. The bridal party enjoyed a hayride in the near 100 degree heat.

We tried to take photos as quickly and efficiently as possible since it was so hot. Ashton and Hayley did amazing! Their giggles were ever present and their smiles were genuine. The way they look at each other is absolutely adorable. I’m so glad these two were such troopers in the heat, because you cannot honestly tell how hot they really were. We made our way to the reception where the new Mr. & Mrs. Maasen were celebrated by all their friends and family! Lots of fun times and dancing filled the evening. Just before our time ended with them, we stole the newlyweds outside just in time for sunset. The skies were showing off that night with the most beautiful golden light pouring through the trees. These two are something special and it was such an honor to document their special day.
