The anticipation is over! We have been dying to share Libbi and Matt’s wedding since the day we captured it. On May 12, 2018 we geared up for a gorgeous spring wedding day! Perfect temperatures, a beautiful couple head over heels in love, paired with timeless details, had us loving everything about the day. Matt anxiously stared down at his brand new watch as he anticipated his first look with his bride Libbi. He was about to see the girl on his dreams for the first time on the wedding day and he was full of energy and excitement! “I just can’t wait to see her,” he kept saying over and over as we stood in the archway waiting for the stretch limo to pull up. The moment finally arrived. Libbi gracefully stepped out of the limo with the most genuine grin stretched across her face. She walked closer to her groom and called his name. Matt turned around so quickly in aw of Libbi’s beauty. His reaction to seeing Libbi was priceless and one of our favorite moments the day! We were so impressed how effortlessly these two fell into poses. We loved all of their candid and sweet snuggly moments. Our bride and groom portrait time was full of joy and laughter. Their joy and love for one another is so evident in their portraits.
Libbi and Matt traveled to Jefferson City, Missouri from Chicago for their wedding. Libbi is a Missouri native and chose her beautiful hometown for the special day. Who knew Jefferson City would ever be considered for a destination wedding! We met Libbi and Matt over Skype back in the fall and we instantly knew their day would be amazing! We could see right away that they are madly in love and meant for one another. We officially met Libbi and Matt on the wedding day. So humble and kind, Libbi and Matt are such a wonderful couple, and we adored capturing their love story!
Libbi moved to Chicago for her career and after living there for a couple of years, she knew it was time to meet someone. She thought she would give dating apps a try. As fate would have it, both Libbi and Matt swiped right on Tinder and the rest is history! They began texting for a few weeks before finally deciding to meet in person. Matt arranged the perfect date at one of his favorite bars, Blue Line, in Wicker Park Chicago. As soon as Libbi walked in, Matt remembers thinking she is so beautiful. After a night of great conversation, Matt knew he wanted to see Libbi again. Blue Line quickly became their spot and the two started officially dating.
After dating just over three years, Matt began to plan a surprise proposal. He had Libbi’s cousin arrange fake dinner plans to throw Libbi off. After a long day of work, Libbi came home on a Friday to a clean apartment and Matt dressed up. He quickly guided Libbi into the kitchen and said, “So, I don’t want to go to dinner tonight with your cousin…” Libbi was a little frustrated and asked him why he didn’t want to go. Matt said “Because I have different plans for us” and he got down on one knee and proposed in their kitchen with The Beatles “Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da” playing in the background. Libbi was completely surprised and so excited. Matt then told Libbi to pack a bag so that they could get away for the night. They checked into a hotel in downtown Chicago for a “stay-cation.” The next night, Matt had all of their friends meet them at the Blue Line, where it all began, to celebrate the engagement!
Nearly a year and a half later, family and friends traveled near and far to celebrate the marriage of Libbi and Matt! They said their “I Do’s” on the steps of Carnahan Memorial Garden. The ceremony was very sentimental as Libbi’s brother Andrew shared an inspiring and fun message! He had all of the guests laughing multiple times as he delivered many entertaining stories about Libbi. He ended on a sweet note, saying he was so glad Libbi finally found someone to live up to her high expectations. A reception followed at the Millbottom just down the street.
Everything about their day was perfect and we thoroughly enjoyed celebrating with their close family and friends. Libbi and Matt, you are both some of the most kind people we have ever had the pleasure of meeting. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts for allowing us to document your wedding day! We felt more like close family friends on your day than photographers. Your family and friends were all so welcoming to our team and we truly appreciate their kindness! We wish you Matt nothing but the best as you begin this new journey together! Enjoy some of our favorites from the beautiful day!
