Mr. & Mrs. Roberts | Little Piney Lodge | Hermann, Missouri Wedding

When I first met Max and Zoey last fall at their engagement session, I was immediately drawn in by these two!  The are so sweet and down to earth and make you feel like you’ve known them forever.  I loved their adorable connection and fun personalties.  By the end of their session, I could not wait for their wedding day to get here.  I knew it would be so amazing and full of love!

August 3 finally came along and lived up to everything and more that I thought the day would be!  When we first arrived, we photographed the reception space in the newly renovated Fest Haus at Little Piney Lodge!  This venue is stunning.  The property is immaculately manicured and has a serene lake that sits at the edge of the ceremony space.  There are endless photo backdrop opportunities here!  Next, we went up to the house where Zoey and all her gals were getting ready for the day!  Zoey was so calm and sweet all morning!  Her bridesmaids surprised her with a scrapbook and letters.  So as her hair was being curled, Zoey flipped through the scrapbook reminiscing on all her fun times with all her girls.

We headed over to the log cabin where Max was getting ready.  With the help of his best man, he was fully ready in no time!  All his friends had such fun personalities.  You can really tell he has a good group of guys surrounding him.  Back over at the main house, it was time for Zoey to slip into her wedding gown.  Zoey’s mom, Kim was there for it all and helped fasten Zoey into the stunning gown.  She helped add jewelry, shoes, and finished off the look with a gorgeous long veil.  Zoey looked absolutely radiant as a bride!  You could truly feel her happiness and excitement for the day!

Zoey & Max’s wedding day ended up being one of the hottest days of the summer.  It was important to take photos outside quickly and efficiently so that no one got too hot before the ceremony.  We popped outside and photographed the bridesmaid portraits with a fun group of girls and dashed back inside to cool down.  Zoey and Max decided to forgo a first look, but wanted to still share a moment with one another before the ceremony.  Instead of seeing each other, they would share a first touch.  Zoey and Max held hands and read personal heartfelt vows to one another.  After their vows, they each shared a gift with each other.  Max looked happy as ever as he opened his gift to reveal a brand new watch.  Max gifted Zoey with the most thoughtful music box that had their song lyric engraved on the top.  Zoey tucked away inside to remain hidden while Max joined all the groomsmen outside for groomsmen photos.  Everyone gathered back inside the house as guests began arriving for the ceremony.

The wedding ceremony was held at the picturesque gazebo area in front of the lake.  Guests were blown away by the beauty of the property.  Zoey was escorted down the aisle by Max’s grandfather.  The two shared in a very sweet ceremony with Christ as the focal point.  They exchanged rings and shared a kiss as they were pronounced Mr. & Mrs. Roberts.  Immediately following the ceremony, guests gathered under the open pavilion area while Zoey and Max took family portraits, bridal party portraits and bride & groom portraits.  The heat was very extreme, but you cannot tell how hot it was outside when you look at these portraits.  Zoey and Max were such troopers enduring the heat to document all their beautiful portraits.

It was nearing the reception time, so all the guests went over to the Fest Haus.  The DJ announced in the bridal party and the happy new couple and the evening was officially kicked off!  Zoey and Max shared their first dance as husband and wife right away and then cut the cake before a delicious Italian dinner was served!  After dinner, toasts were delivered that had everyone cracking up laughing.  Zoey’s mom delivered a very heartfelt emotional speech that had people tearing up.  After toasts, Max shared a fun first dance with his mom and then the dancing picked up!  friends and family really got the party started and kept the dance floor packed.  They had fun light up glasses that kept everyone entertained.

We stole Zoey and Max for sunset portraits!  The light was stunning during this time.  We were so excited to get these two in the row boat and take some very romantic just married portraits!  The row boat ended up being a little difficult to navigate with oars being broken, but the photos made it all worth it.  They are some of the dreamiest photos in the gallery that look like they could be straight out of a movie!

All in all, it was a perfect day from beginning to end!  I cannot say enough good things about Zoey and Max.  They truly are such a special pair!  They both have a heart of gold and would do anything for anyone they love.  I know these two are going to do amazing things as a married couple!  Zoey and Max, thank you so much for allowing me and my team to be part of your engagement season and wedding day!  I’ve loved getting to know the both of you and witnessing all your beautiful once in a life time moments!  Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Roberts!  I hope you share a lifetime of the happiest years together!
