Mr. & Mrs. Schenewerk | Wasserlauf Valley Wedding

Nola and Adam were married on June 1, 2024 at Wasserlauf Valley in Russelville, Missouri!  We started the day photographing the details under the reception venue.  The owners were hard at work setting up all the tables and meticulously getting everything in the perfect place!  Everything looked beautiful under the golden globe lights of the pavilion.  While Nola and her gals were preparing for the day upstairs at the getting ready space, I got to work photographing her bridal details.  Nola and her family worked throughout the planning process of the wedding, crafting the perfect bouquets made from wooden flowers.  They even hand-dyed some of the flowers to match the aesthetic of the wedding.

We traveled just down the road to Adam’s step brother’s home where he and all the guys were prepping for the day in the shop!  A recently redone vintage car served as the backdrop for all of Adam’s getting ready moments.  He and all the guys were so nice and welcoming to us!  We went back to the venue where Nola and the girls were just finishing up the last touches of hair and makeup.  We took a few quick Pj shots before everyone was back inside getting in their dresses.  In the getting ready room, Nola’s mom and sister helped her get into the gorgeous lace gown.  We used the armoire to finish of the look with the veil.  Nola stood looking in the mirror and was absolutely glowing!

Just down the hill, her dad was anxiously waiting for a first look with his daughter.  As he stood there and we gave him the run down of the first look, he began tearing up.  Before Nola even tapped her dad’s shoulder, tears streamed out of his eyes.  They two shared a heartwarming first look!  She also gifted her dad with a picture and note that had him crying even more!  This is one of my all time favorite daddy-daughter first looks!  It was so touching witnessing such a lovely dynamic between Nola and her dad.

Next, it was time for Adam and Nola to share a first look.  Adam stood by the willow tree as the branches swayed in the late spring breeze.  He was awaiting the arrival of his beautiful bride!  As Nola gently tapped his shoulder, Adam quickly turned and was immediately overcome with a stream of emotions.  He couldn’t stop crying once he was in the presence of his bride.  I loved their romantic first look!  It’s so evident to see the love they share for one another.

We spent the afternoon taking bridal party portraits before the ceremony.  Adam once again was full of emotion as he witnessed Nola walking down the aisle!  They shared in a short but sweet ceremony, officiated by Adam’s step brother, Josh Hughes. After their vows and the exchange of rings, Josh pronounced them husband and wife!  The early evening was spent documenting family formals and the remainder of bridal party and bride & groom portraits.

Guests gathered under the pavilion for the reception!  Nola and Adam were announced in and everyone cheered in excitement for the newlyweds.  The cake was cut and toasts were delivered from the maid of honor and best man before everyone enjoyed a delicious BBQ dinner.  Nola and Adam shared their first dance and looked so happy!  Nola then shared a first dance with her dad and surprised him in the middle of the dance with a last game of catch.  Nola’s sister, Jodi brought out two softball gloves and a softball for the two to use!  Her dad began tearing up and loved the sweet surprise.  Adam and his mom shared a sweet mother-son dance before the party got kicked off.  Guests enjoyed the remainder of the night dancing!

We stole Nola and Adam out for a few romantic sunset portraits by the lake!  It was the perfect ending to such a fun day!  Nola and Adam, thank you so much for trusting me and my team to document day one of your marriage!  We had so much fun everyone!  Wishing you two all the best as you begin your married life! Congratulations to Mr. & Mrs. Schenewerk!!
