MiKayla and Mark had the most beautiful November wedding day in Hermann, Missouri! I began the morning with MiKayla and her bridesmaids in the cutest Air Bnb in town. As all the girls got ready and prepared for the day, I photographed all of the pretty bridal details. MiKayla had such a gorgeous and vibrant bridal bouquet. It was full of so many pretty fall colors. Once all of the hair and makeup was complete, MiKayla slipped into her wedding gown and her mom fastened all the intricate buttons. MiKayla looked absolutely stunning as a bride! MiKayla’s mom tried not to tear up as she witnessed her daughter as a bride. Now that MiKayla was in her wedding attire, it was time for the big reveal.

All of the bridesmaids turned around at the same time and exclaimed the happiest of cheers as they each saw MiKayla! Now it was time for a sweet first look with dad. MiKayla’s dad came in the front door and walked over to his daughter. He tried not to tear up, but became very emotional as he and MiKayla embraced. It was such a lovely moment to witness. All of the bridesmaids watched in the background as MiKayla and her dad hugged for the longest time.

We ventured downtown to take a few bridesmaid and groomsmen portraits before heading to church for the ceremony. It was getting closer to ceremony time, so we traveled to St. George Catholic Church. MiKayla and Mark chose not to share a first look before the ceremony, however, they did decided to do a first touch. As MiKayla and Mark touched hands for the first time on the wedding day, emotions hit both of them. They each read heartfelt, handwritten vows to one another in private. Both MiKayla and Mark teared up and cried during this moment. MiKayla and Mark shared in a traditional Catholic ceremony. After rings and vows were exchanged, they were pronounced husband and wife. They dashed back up the aisle as the newest Mr. & Mrs. Thomas!

After church, we headed back downtown near the river front for the remainder of bridal party portraits and bride and groom portraits. Time flew by with this fun and outgoing group! We had so much fun with everyone. MiKayla and Mark have such a darling connection. Photographing their love is simple as can be. We couldn’t get enough of their giddiness. These two are so clearly head over heels for one another and we couldn’t be happier for them.

Guests gathered in Rhineland for the reception following the ceremony. The DJ announced in MiKayla and Mark along with the bridal party to get the evening started off! Everyone spent the night celebrating with dancing, drinks, and good food. Sentimental toasts had people laughing and crying. It really was the perfect evening. Perhaps one of my favorite moments of the reception was during the anniversary dance. I share a special relationship with my grandparents, so I’m always on the lookout for sweet moments happening between grandparents. Mark’s grandparent’s have been married for 60 years. Watching his grandparents hold each other close on the dance floor, as guests rallied around them cheering for their amazing accomplishment, had me in tears. It really is such a sweet thing to see marriages withstand the test of time! MiKayla and Mark have wonderful role models for marriage. We know great things are in store for them now that they are husband and wife.
