A Romantic Blufftop Wedding | Trinity + Colten

From the moment I met Trinity and Colten during their engagement session in Rocheport last year, I knew their wedding day would be nothing short of magical. These two radiate kindness and warmth, and I had no doubt their day would reflect just that, full of heart, joy, and sweet intentional moments. Spoiler alert: it absolutely did!

When we arrived on the big day, Trinity was already at the reception site, calm, collected, and somehow still helping everyone else get everything in order.  She was floating around the Bistro, offering genuine compliments to everyone she encountered.  Just classic Trinity, always thinking of others, even on her wedding day!

We began by photographing her details in the nearby house, where final preparations were underway.  The energy was buzzing with excitement!  Trinity and her bridesmaids (plus the junior bridesmaid and flower girl) were all cozied up in matching pajama sets, and even Grandma Nancy joined in on the fun! Upstairs, in the sunlit entryway, Trinity slipped into her breathtaking sparkly gown with Grandma Nancy lovingly by her side to help!  It was one of those moments you feel lucky to witness, the kind you know they’ll treasure forever.

To add even more meaning to the moment, Trinity’s soon-to-be mother-in-law, Jenny, placed a special necklace around her neck, one she had gifted Trinity previously, while Grandma Nancy gently added the veil.  The look on her grandmother’s face as she admired Trinity, fighting back tears… it was truly something specia!

Meanwhile, over at the guys’ quarters of the house, Colten was getting ready with a little help from his mom and the moral support of his brothers.  Jenny beamed with pride seeing her son in his wedding attire, and the sweet bond she shares with Colten was so evident. What stood out even more was the love she clearly has for Trinity as well.  It’s easy to see how close-knit this new family already is!

With everyone looking their best, we captured bridal party portraits in front of the stunning wooden doors of the house.  Trinity and Colten’s friends and family made our jobs easy! Every one was so fun to be around!

As guests began to gather at the bluff top for the ceremony, the setting couldn’t have been more picturesque with sweeping river views, warm light, and an air of excitement!  Colten stood at the front, waiting.  And when the music started and Trinity appeared arm-in-arm with her Grandma Nancy, emotions ran high.  Colten’s lip quivered, and his eyes welled up.  Trinity was glowing, emotional too, as she walked toward her forever!

After heartfelt vows and joyful applause, Trinity and Colten were officially husband and wife!  We captured family portraits and then took the newlyweds up the hill for their first portraits as a married couple. And of course, a special guest joined us: a vintage Rolls Royce from the ‘80s. (Colten is a mechanic and car enthusiast, so this was a perfect touch!) The car barely made it through the shoot without incident… when it began overheating and leaking fluid.  Smoke and all!

But Trinity and Colten took it all in stride, laughing and rolling with it like pros.  Honestly, the drama just made for even more epic portraits, some of my favorites of the entire day!

As the sun dipped lower, we made our way back to the Bistro, where guests welcomed the newlyweds with cheers and flying napkins (10/10 energy).  Dinner was elegant and delicious, and the toasts?  Well, they had the whole room in tears one moment and laughing out loud the next.  At one point, the speeches were so moving, guests literally stood up and applauded. I’ve never seen anything like it.

One of the most touching moments came when Trinity gave special dedications to two women who mean the world to her, her Grandma Nancy and her new mother-in-law, Jenny!  She presented each with a bouquet and shared heartfelt words that left hardly a dry eye in the room.  That’s just who Trinity is, thoughtful, sincere, and full of love!

After cake cutting and a swoon-worthy first dance, we snuck Trinity and Colten away one last time for golden hour portraits at the bluff top. The light was absolutely dreamy, and these two nailed every shot.  I swear, each photo was somehow better than the last.

The night ended with dancing, laughter, and a lemon drop shot shared with Trinity and guests during the iconic “Shot O’Clock!” It was the perfect, lighthearted way to close out such a meaningful and love-filled day!

From start to finish, Trinity and Colten’s wedding was everything you could hope for, genuine, joyful, sentimental, and centered on what matters most: love and family!  I feel so honored to have been there to document day one of their marriage.

Congratulations, Trinity and Colten! Here’s to a lifetime of joy, adventures, and laughter…  and maybe a few more classic cars along the way!
