Kate and Jonathan are the most darling pair! When I met up with them in the fall for their engagement session last year in Kansas City, I knew the wedding day would be so fun with them. These two are such naturals in front of the camera. Their love is pure and true and it shows in each and every photo. No one can make Kate laugh the way Jonathan does; and Kate makes Jonathan’s eyes light up every time she’s in his presence. These two are a force to be reckoned with.
Kate and Jonathan chose perhaps one of the hottest days of the year to officially tie the knot. With temperatures in the high 90s and a heat index over 100, we knew we had our work cut out for us with. We were blown away with just how cooperative everyone was in the bridal party, given the extremely uncomfortable temps. Kate and Jonathan are truly blessed with an amazing group of close-knit friends.
We started the day at The loft where Kate and her girls were preparing for the day. The loft is the newest addition for couples getting married at The Millbottom. They now have the cutest bridal getting ready space on site with all of the industrial vibes. It has several windows allowing in the gorgeous natural light, and the brick walls give the space all the character. The new space is such a gem! We are so happy they added this space for couples. The loft was always overflowing with lots of laughter on the morning of the wedding. Top 40 hits were being played over the speakers! It was the perfect beginning to a gorgeous day.
After hair and makeup was complete, Kate slipped into her stunning wedding gown with assistance from her sweet mom. Kate finished off the look with a few jewelry pieces and a veil. Kate’s mom looked overjoyed in that moment as she witnessed her daughter as a glowing bride. Kate’s bridesmaids cheered in excitement as they saw Kate become a bride right before their eyes. Waiting just outside of the loft at the bottom of the stairs, was Kate’s dad. He was anxiously awaiting a first look with Kate. Kate glided towards her father and tapped him on the shoulder. He turned around and looked so proud!
We ventured to Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where Kate and Jonathan would share their first look. Kate effortlessly made her way towards the front of the alter before calling Jonathan’s name. He spun around and looked so excited. They both hugged for the longest time and smiled so big. It was such a sweet moment. Before the ceremony, we knocked out all of the church photos so we could spend the remainder of the afternoon and early evening strolling around downtown for portraits.
At 2pm, Kate and Jonathan took part in a traditional Catholic ceremony with a full mass. Many guests joined the happy to couple to watch them become Mr. & Mrs. Wildhaber. Within the hour, they were pronounced husband and wife and they happily dashed back up the aisle. It was time for celebrating and portraits. A party bus transported the bridal party around downtown for all the photos. Kate and Jonathan truly knocked their bride and groom portraits out of the park. These two know how to bring their A game. We just adore their sweet and endearing connection they share. It makes documenting their love a breeze.
After portraits, we headed to the Millbottom where guests were awaiting the arrival of Kate and Jonathan. Everyone was announced into the reception and the party got started. It was a night spent in true celebratory fashion. Funny speeches were made, delicious food was had by all, and dancing filled the remainder of the night. The dance floor stayed pretty packed the majority of the night. Before ending our time with Kate and Jonathan, we stole them away for some sunset portraits, and man are we glad we did! The light just outside of the Millbottom was perfect and glowy! Pair beautiful golden light with a gorgeous bride and groom, and magic happens.
Kate and Jonathan, we cannot thank you both enough for having us be part of your spectacular wedding day! Thank you so much for welcoming me and my team in like family. We love how sweet everyone was! You two are so blessed to be surrounded by so much love and support. We wish you all the absolute best and cannot wait to see what the future has in store for the new Mr. & Mrs. Wildhaaber. Congratulations again you two! Enjoy some of our favorites from the day.
