One thing can be said about Allison and Michael as a couple, and it’s that they make an incredible pair!  They each exude so much joy and their personalities are infectious.  Allison and Michael are so caring and they go above and beyond to make the people they are closet to feel so special and loved.  Together, they are a strong match and an even better team!  We couldn’t have been more thrilled to be alongside them documenting day one of their marriage.

As a wedding photographer, your heart sinks a little when rain is forecasted for the majority of a wedding day.  It did rain a large portion of the day, but Allison and Michael took the weather in stride and didn’t let it dampen their fun.  We always have a backup plan in place in the event that rain threatens portrait time.  And as it turns out, our backup locations did not disappoint.  You honestly cannot even tell it was pouring down raining.  Allison and Michael showed incredible grace with our team and rolled through the dreary weather like champions.  Through it all, the smiles never left their faces and the laughter never stopped.   We have no doubt that Allison and Michael have a marriage that will withstand the test of time.

Allison and her girls got ready in Jefferson City at a home that is said to be haunted.  The home, called Hobo Hill, looks immaculate and has the most darling touches of charm throughout the spaces.  Luckily, while we were there, we didn’t encounter anything crazy or scary.  Allison loves to be early, so her day ran smooth as ever.  Allison lost her mom when she was younger, so one of her friends surprised her with a photo of Allison, her sister Bailey, and Mom.  It was the perfect touch and decorated the kitchen counter nearby where Allison prepared for the day.

Once hair and makeup was complete, we joined the girls for a few portraits outside, during a quick break from the rain.  It was finally time for Allison to get into her wedding gown.  Her sister Bailey helped her into the gown.  Allison looked stunning as the buttons were being fastened.  Bailey slid a veil in place and Allison’s bridal look was complete.

Before heading off to church, Allison saved a special moment for her father, Perry.  She wanted to share a first look with the first man she ever loved.  As Perry turned around, he was awe struck at the beauty of his daughter.  He stood absolutely stunned.  Later in the day during toasts, her father said he had never seen a bride more beautiful than her mother; ever, until now!  Everyone was tearful as her dad spoke the sweetest sentiments about her late mom.

We headed off to St. Peter’s Church in Jefferson City just as the rain began to pick back up.  Allison and Michael shared in a Catholic ceremony. After church, the bridal party loaded up onto the party bus and headed to the capitol.  Luckily, we were able to steal a few minutes of portrait time with no rain!  Shortly into portrait time, the rain picked back up, so we ventured off to our backup location.  Throughout the afternoon, we celebrated Allison and Michael’s love.  We had the best time with all of their sweet friends.  Bridal party portraits were a breeze with this fun group.  We ended portrait time at the reception venue.  Canterbury Hill Winery in Holts Summit, Missouri provided the most beautiful scenic backdrop with rolling hills.

The wedding party kept the party going and decided to take a ride on the party bus for a bit before entering the reception.  Once they made it back, guests cheered in excitement as the DJ announced The Wright’s into the large white tent.  Being a wedding photographer is truly such a gift.  Especially when you get to spend your Saturday with such an amazing couple.  Allison and Michael have the the sweetest friends and family.  It’s evident that these two are loved immensely.  Some of the best toasts I’ve ever heard were delivered during the reception.  The kindest words were spoken, and the funniest stories were told.  The reminder of the night was spent dancing and catching up with those in attendance.

It felt like such an honor to be there witnessing it all unfold.  It may have rained the majority of the day, but the day was nothing short of beautiful and amazing.  It’s one day I think I’ll be replaying for awhile.  Allison and Michael, thank you so much for allowing my team the opportunity to be present on such a special day.  We were welcomed in like family and treated like friends instead of vendors.  We cannot thank you enough for the hospitality we received from everyone.  We want to wish you two the absolute best.  May you be blessed with many years together.  Cheers to the new Mr. & Mrs. Wright!
