I’ll be honest, I don’t photograph family sessions very often these days, but when I do, it’s always for a reason! And this one? This one meant so much.
I first met Meghan and Evan back in 2021 when I photographed their wedding day. They had one of those days that just sticks with you! The kind of couple you instantly connect with and never forget. So getting the chance to see them again, now in this season of life, with two little ones of their own… it’s just the sweetest full circle moment!
And it gets even better because I’ll be photographing Meghan’s sister, Emilee, and Austin’s wedding this fall!! So being surrounded by their whole crew again felt like stepping right back into something so familiar and special.
We met in Jefferson City for their session, and they all showed up dressed to impress in the most perfectly coordinated pink and blue outfits. Now, I won’t sugarcoat it, the wind had plans for us that evening. We were dealing with some pretty wild gusts. But this group handled it like absolute champs. We’d wait out the strong gusts, take advantage of the calm little pockets in between, and then jump right back in. It turned into this rhythm of patience and playfulness that honestly made the whole session even more memorable!
And let me tell you, the real stars of the show? Meghan and Evan’s two little kiddos! They were so adorable! The sweet little giggles, the expressions, the little in between moments, I was melting behind my camera! There’s just something so special about documenting a family in this stage of life, where things are a little chaotic, a little unpredictable, and completely beautiful all at the same time!
It was such a privilege to document this season for their family. From wedding day memories to growing families and new beginnings on the horizon. Getting to be a small part of it all is something I never take for granted!
I already can’t wait to see them all again this fall!
