Noelle + Mason | Stephens Lake Park Engagement Session

We had a wonderful evening well spent with two of the kindest most down to earth people!  Noelle and Mason are quite the pair, and we could tell early on in their session that things would go amazingly.  From the moment we began, these two made our job an absolute breeze.  They were effortlessly able to fall into poses and took direction so well.  Our job is made even easier when you have two people who are head over heels for one another!  The way Noelle and Mason interact with each other is cute as can be!  We couldn’t get enough of their giddiness and eagerness to just be in the moment with each other.  They were both so present the entire session and it was adorable to see.   We couldn’t have asked for a better evening with more perfect weather.  From strolling around downtown Columbia, Missouri, to stealing kisses at Stephens Lake Park, Noelle and Mason knocked their session out of the park!

Their Love Story

Noelle and Mason first met at Father Tolton Catholic High School, during their senior year.  They were actually both senior transfers, and as fate would have it, they would soon be together.  Noelle and Mason wasted no time getting to know each other.  Their unofficial first date was at Noelle’s house. She had invited Mason over to play pool, and they decided to make a bet. Noelle told Mason that if he won the game of pool, then he could take her on a date, and if she won, then he would still get to take her on a date.  Noelle ended up winning!  So it looks like Mason got that date!  They spent the rest of the night watching movies and just talking until 1am. Noelle didn’t know this at the time, but Mason is super shy, so it was surprising that he talked for that long.  They were just very comfortable with each other from the start, and conversation came easy to them. Mason actually says this night at Noelle’s is one of his favorite memories of them from high school.

From Mason’s Perspective: “I can’t say here was a specific moment when I knew Noelle was the one. She just continuously did little things (the smile and look that she gives me and how goofy she acts sometimes) that made me fall in love with her more and more, day in and day out. All those little things continuously add up and I came to the realization that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with her.”

From Noelle’s Perspective: “I also didn’t have a specific moment that made me realize he was “the one”. There was a moment that made me realize I was in love with him. We were at his family’s farm; it was the first time for me, and he was taking me around to go see all the cows (my favorite animals). It was just so cool to see him in his element, and it was really cute because he was just so happy and proud to be able to show me everything. And I remember sitting behind him on the four wheeler with my arms wrapped around him, and his smile just got me. It was the most perfect moment, and I just remember this overwhelming feeling of happiness came over me, and that’s when I knew I was in love with Mason. From then on, he just continued making me happy. And I would agree with him, that it was the little things that he did that made me want to spend the rest of my life with him.”

How He Asked

About 3 1/2 years into the relationship, Mason knew it was time to ask Noelle to marry him, so a plan was set in place. It was a summer night in May just one night before Noelle would leave for her study abroad trip. Mason took Noelle to her favorite restaurant in Columbia. Afterwards, he took her to the lake behind their old high school. They walked around for a little bit, and then he stopped Noelle and took both of her hands in his. He told Noelle that he believed that they were meant to be together, and that he believed God brought them together, because what are the odds two people transfer to the same school senior year and end up together? Then Mason told Noelle that he loved her and couldn’t imagine his life without her. That’s when he dropped to one knee, and asked her to marry him!

Noelle and Mason are such a lovely couple to be around!  You just cannot help but smile when you are in their presence.  These two are such a darling pair with an unmatched connection.  It’s so evident to see!  Enjoy some of our favorites from their summer engagement session. We had such a difficult time narrowing down the images to showcase on the blog. So many more to come!
