We officially met Sara and Caleb at their engagement session and we immediately knew we were in for a wonderful evening! Sara and Caleb were walking hand in hand with the cutest grins on their faces as they made their way to us! They selected the cutest outfits and accessories that fit perfectly with the fall like weather! When we first started the session, it was extremely overcast with no sunshine in sight. Sara’s radiant smile and Caleb’s effortless ability to make her laugh shined through on the dreary day! Much to our surprise, about 30 minutes into the session, beautiful rays of sunshine began to peak through the cloud cover. And minute by minute, the sky cleared up and we were blessed with brilliant golden light for the remainder of the session! Sara and Caleb’s infectious personalities paired with the gorgeous light and locations made for one perfect evening! We knew with each snap of our shutter that magic was happening!
Their Love Story
We absolutely adore these two and their enduring love story! Sara and Caleb are high school sweethearts who have defied the odds! The darling couple officially met in the fall of 2013 after a football jamboree at Blair Oaks Athletic Complex. Sara recalls Caleb catching her attention, so she wasted no time before flirting with the cute football player.
Soon after they met, they shared a first date at the Jones household. Sara anxiously waited for her date to arrive, and as she saw his headlights flash in the driveway, she reminded her family to be nice and told them not to embarrass her! As soon as Caleb walked through the front door, all of Sara’s nerves quickly melted away once she realized he fit right in with her family! They shared dinner together with Sara’s family and later enjoyed a night full of stories, laughter, and coffee in the living room. Sara still remembers the tingle in her stomach and heat on her face when she read a text from Caleb later that night that read, “That was fun. I can’t wait to come over again.”
Throughout their five year relationship, their love for one another has continued to grow and mature! Sara and Caleb have spent their college years separated by distance as they both decided to pursue degrees at different universities. While Sara and Caleb do not get to be together in person too often, distance can’t stop wha’s meant to be. And that’s truly the case for Sara and Caleb! These two are the perfect pair. The love they share is undeniable. We adore how in love they are with one another. They made our job a breeze. You can see their undeniable connection in each and every portrait we took. We are already counting down the days for June to arrive so we can have this adorable duo back in front of our cameras!
How He Asked
In July, Sara and Caleb took an end of summer trip to Colorado. This was the first vacation the adorable pair had taken alone as a couple. On day two of their trip, they dedicated their time to hiking not one but TWO 14,000 foot mountains!! They began the journey by driving three miles up the mountain to get to their starting location. As they started their climb up the mountain, they thought it would be an easy hike since they are both competitive and considered themselves to be conditioned athletes. Much to their surprise, the hike proved to be more difficult than they had originally anticipated.
After many breaks and encouraging words along the way, the dedicated and ambitious team made it to the top of the mountain! The breathtaking view at the top was worth capturing, so Caleb handed his phone to a fellow climber and prompted them to take a video. Sara was confused why he asked the climber to video them, only to realize Caleb getting down on one knee to propose. Tears quickly filled Sara’s eyes as she witnessed the man she loved for five years asking her to spend a lifetime with him. Even with the sight of the beautiful nature at the top of the mountain, Sara could only focus her attention on Caleb and her stunning diamond ring.
