We first met Amanda and Josh at their engagement session back in June. The two traveled to Jefferson City from Iowa for their session! We knew after their session, that their wedding day would be nothing short of amazing! Their wedding day was just that; amazing!

We had the privilege of photographing one of the most beautiful wedding days on Sunday September 2, 2018! Amanda and Josh, along with their family and friends, traveled to St. Louis from near and far to celebrate the special day! When we arrived in the bridal suite, Amanda was calm and collected as she sat writing her wedding vows to Josh. She had stunning details ready for us and we couldn’t get enough of all the elegant and sparkling pieces she selected!! As the afternoon quickly passed, it was time to get Amanda in her wedding gown! Her maid of Honor Meghan helped her slip into the gorgeous gown from BHLDN. The off the shoulder form fitting dress fit Amanda and her style perfectly! Next, we headed to Josh for his getting ready portraits. Once we arrived to the guys room, we were met with a completely different vibe! Their room was full of guys that were all trying to get ready as quickly as possible. His best man helped him pull together his look. Josh loves vibrant colors-especially green, so it only made sense for him to have neon suspenders to add a little touch of his personality to the look!

Amanda and Josh shared in an emotional ceremony at the Westin Hotel. The room was elegantly decorated and chivari chairs lined the path for the aisle. An ivory ribbon was delicately tied across the aisle to keep guests from walking on the white runner. A gorgeous backdrop was draped in greenery and roses. The dimmed lights and flickering candles added such a romantic ambiance to the room. The pianist began playing soft melodies and one by one, the bridal party made their way down the aisle. The officiant gestured for everyone to rise as the bride was just about to make her way down the aisle. The Promenade Ballroom doors opened, and Amanda’s dad Marc guided her down the aisle to her soon to be husband. Amanda teared up as she made her way to Josh, while he couldn’t help but smile. He had the biggest grin on his face as he watched his gorgeous bride make her way to him! Amanda and Josh both spoke the sweetest words and promises to one another as they recited their handwritten heartfelt vows. Josh would say a few words and get choked up as he spoke from the heart! Their vows were lovely and everyone in the audience was emotional!

After they exchanged rings, the officiant pronounced Amanda and Josh husband and wife and they made their way back down the aisle. Everyone cheered and congratulated them as they walked by! Amanda and Josh are the perfect pair. They really balance each other out! Once we whisked them outside for a few just married portraits, they both looked so relaxed and happy!! Despite Amanda and Josh being Chicago Cubs fans, we made sure to include a St. Louis Cardinals portrait of the two in front of Busch Stadium. I’m sure her dad Marc will not approve (insert cry laughing emoji here)!! When your wedding venue is just outside of Busch Stadium, you just have to do it- for the memories-sorry Marc! All throughout the day both bridesmaids and groomsmen spoke about how the two were lucky to have each other, and we couldn’t agree more!

The reception space was transformed into a fairytale set up after the ceremony. The space looked very elegant! We were impressed with just how quickly the hotel event staff put everything together! They made it look so effortless! The night was full of laughter and fun as the complete weddings and events got the party started. Josh and his groomsmen traded out their formal shoes for some maroon checkered vans dancing shoes. The dance floor was never empty the entire night. We think it’s safe to say everyone enjoyed their time.
