Taylor + Andrew | Downtown Jefferson City, Missouri Engagement Session

I had been looking forward to Taylor and Andrew’s engagement session ever since we scheduled it on the calendar!  Taylor, especially was so excited and organized with planning the perfect outfits and locations.  You cannot go wrong with the fall season in Jefferson City, Missouri!  It’s gorgeous this time of year and downtown always offers the perfect backdrops.  Taylor and Andrew were giddy from the moment they arrived.  They were dressed to impress and so eager for the session.  From the beginning, these two were such models.  I love how their personalities perfectly complement one another.  Taylor has the most infectious laugh with Andrew around making her crack up.

We took in the beautiful scenery downtown and then headed to the Katy Trail bridge.  There, we met with Taylor’s mom who brought their sweet pup Mila Jo!  What a doll she was.  She was a bit hyper at the beginning, but once she realized sitting pretty earned her treats, she behaved so well!  I loved their sweet photos on the bridge in cozy fall attire with their darling pup.  Finally, we ventured over to Capital Bluffs Event Center.  We cruised around finding the perfect spots by the water and open fields.  The sun was just setting and the sky was showing off!  It was a gorgeous ending to one amazing session with these two.  I’ll be counting down the days to their wedding!

How They Met

Taylor and Andrew met on a chilly fall day in October of 2020 at her old house! They had matched on Tinder a couple weeks prior to that.  The two had talked everyday leading up to that Friday, when Andrew came over after getting off work.  They decided to have a movie night in and ordered pizza from Brooklynn’s in Fulton. After going down a one way street (the wrong way), Taylor thought, this guy isn’t so bad!  She remembers waiting in the truck texting her mom telling her all things! Taylor was alive and well, and for a first date, things surprisingly weren’t all that awkward!  Taylor and Andrew shared SO many laughs that night and things had felt as if they had known each other for years.

After pizza, they decided to make brownies and Taylor will never let him cut another brownie again.  Andrew cut a piece straight from the middle! He’s lucky Taylor let him stick around! Andrew ended up staying the weekend with Taylor.  He lived in Rich Fountain at the time, so it was a bit of a drive, but lucky for him and Taylor.. he worked right down the road from her!  Taylor was so nervous, she’s not one for first dates (hints why she felt more comfortable having him come over)!  The butterflies soon faded, and it felt as if they had been best friends since the beginning of time.

That first weekend they met, Taylor thought there was just something about Andrew that had a strong hold on her heart. While she had to play it cool for a while, since Andrew was not ready to settle down, she finally got the boy! According to Taylor, life with Andrew just feels right and  normal in this crazy world. They moved quickly, but neither of them seemed to mind. Taylor and Andrew were playing “House” by Christmas of that year.  About one year in, Andrew knew that there was no other woman as supportive and thoughtful as Taylor that truly loved him.  He knew she was the one!

How He Asked

It might have been heavily suggested to Andrew… They got engaged in the Dominican Republic during Taylor’s brother’s senior trip (thanks Tanner)! They had just ate dinner with their group, and were headed to the beach for a night stroll.  Andrew made the comment he wanted to go change, of course Taylor said  she would go with him. He insisted Taylor stay back. Butterflies immediately. Taylor’s mind raced, “is this it?” Well, when she met him down at the beach she immediately scanned his pockets for that clue. There wasn’t one.  A little sad, Taylor just thought “when the time is right, it will happen.”

The joke was on her, that boy knows Taylor all too well! She hates surprises, but he was not going to let Taylor  ruin his surprise. Andrew and Taylor started to walk and he commented about his room card bothering him. So they stopped, it was no room card he pulled out of his pocket. While Taylor wasn’t watching, Andrew knelt down on one knee in the sand and said, Taylor Eisterhold just sounds better!  Taylor spun around quite fast to see Andrew holding A RING! Cue the ugly tears! It was just them, and it was everything Taylor could have wanted and more!
