A Joyful Rainy Day Wedding at Capital Bluffs | Megan & Austin

Megan and Austin were married on June 7 at the beautiful Capital Bluffs Event Center in Jefferson City, Missouri! Though the day began with heavy clouds and pouring rain, nothing could dampen the joy and excitement that radiated from these two and their loved ones!

Upstairs, Megan and her bridesmaids were getting pampered with hair and makeup when the laughter started flowing, especially after the girls surprised Megan with a scrapbook full of their favorite memories together. It was such a touching moment filled with nostalgia and so many smiles!

Megan got dressed with the help of her mom, and in no time, she was glowing in her wedding gown! Her bridesmaids’ reactions during the first look were priceless, there was singing, dancing, and the loudest group chorus of Taylor Swift’s Love Story I’ve ever heard. The hype was real, and the energy was electric!

Next, Megan shared a heartwarming first look with her dad, and the emotion was immediate. As soon as he saw her, his eyes welled up, it was such a beautiful, genuine moment between them both!

As the guys arrived, the venue came alive with even more energy. Austin got ready with his best man, and his mom added the finishing touch by pinning on his boutonniere . He shared a sweet and emotional first look with his mom that left everyone misty-eyed.

Downstairs, guests began to take their seats for the ceremony. Megan and Austin were married on the stage in front of all their family and friends at Capital Bluffs. One of the most touching moments was seeing Megan’s grandparents take on the roles of flower girl and ring bearer, it was truly unforgettable and so full of pride and joy! A family member officiated the ceremony, and Megan couldn’t stop smiling and laughing throughout Austin’s incredibly heartfelt vows. It was pure love! They exchanged rings, were pronounced husband and wife, and walked back up the aisle hand in hand, with forever in their eyes!

After the ceremony, we documented family formals and headed out for bridal party portraits. Megan wanted lush greenery in the background, so we found the perfect outdoor spot, right before the rain returned! The clouds were dark and threatening, but we managed to finish bridal party portraits just in time.

With the rain pouring down, we made our way to the Missouri State Capitol, where we found a covered area for more portraits. Megan and Austin were absolute troopers and embraced the unpredictable weather with smiles and laughter the whole way through!

And just when we thought the rain might steal the show, the sun surprised us and burst through the clouds! We headed to the Katy Trail bridge for a few more portraits. Their connection, their playfulness truly made every moment feel like a dream!

Back at the venue, the reception was in full swing! The newlyweds made their grand entrance, and their energy was unmatched. Heartfelt and hilarious toasts had everyone laughing, and dinner was enjoyed by all.

Later, Megan and Austin cut their cake and shared their first dance as husband and wife. As the sun began to set, we snuck outside for some glowy golden-hour portraits. These two absolutely glowed in the light and in their love. We ended the night with them on the greens, putting and giggling together like two best friends starting the rest of their lives side by side
