Molly & Matthew | A Wedding at Ely Manor

Ever since Molly and Matthew’s engagement session last fall, I had been counting down the days to get these two back in front of my camera! Their chemistry is undeniable, magnetic in a way that makes everyone around them smile! Their story started years ago as friends in an Ohio dance company, writing letters back and forth until friendship blossomed into love! Together, they pursued their dreams as professional dancers in Nashville, where they still live today. Watching their connection unfold is nothing short of beautiful. Molly lights up with happy tears and laughter around Matthew, and he never takes his eyes off her, as if she’s the only person in the room!

The morning began in the bridal suite at Ely Manor, buzzing with excitement! Molly and her bridesmaids filled the space with laughter, Chappell Roan playing through the speakers, and spontaneous dance breaks between hair and makeup. Champagne bottles popped, glasses clinked, and joyful energy filled every corner! In a quiet, emotional moment, Molly opened a heartfelt letter from Matthew and unwrapped his gift, a stunning heirloom diamond, reimagined as a necklace for her to wear on their wedding day!

Molly’s mom and sister helped her into her custom gown, and almost immediately, happy tears started flowing!! She looked radiant, graceful and glowing as if she stepped straight out of a bridal editorial! She and her mom shared tender moments in front of the mirror, heads leaning together, soaking in the reality of the day. Just outside, her dad waited for their first look. The moment he turned to see his daughter, his face broke into the biggest smile, while Molly’s eyes brimmed with tears once again. It was pure magic!

Meanwhile, Matthew was surrounded by his groomsmen and a groomswoman, each helping with different parts of his getting ready routine. Laughter and lighthearted banter filled the room, and when he sat down to read Molly’s letter, he discovered her sweet surprise, a thoughtfully planned mini moon for the two of them to share after the wedding!

When it came time for the first look, the summer heat was intense, but you’d never know it by looking at them. The second Molly tapped Matthew’s shoulder, he spun around with sheer awe in his eyes. Their embrace, their laughter, their kisses, it was as if time stopped just for them! Photographing these two is effortless because they’re so naturally in sync. Even in the heat, they were joyful and present, fully wrapped up in the moment with one another!

The bridal party soon joined for portraits along the tree lined drive leading into Ely Manor. The setting, with its canopy of green, was the perfect backdrop before the ceremony began.

Their ceremony was as intentional and heartfelt as the rest of their story! Friends and family read love letters Molly and Matthew had exchanged during their dating years, while others spoke the names of loved ones no longer with us, followed by the lighting of a candle in their honor. Every moment was personal, genuine, and deeply moving. When Molly and Matthew read their vows, the guests laughed through tears, fully immersed in the beauty of their promises to one another!

After the warm outdoor ceremony, guests welcomed the cool relief of cocktail hour inside Ely Manor. Molly and Matthew made their way around to greet each table, making sure every guest felt included! Dinner was served, toasts were made, funny, heartfelt, and touching! Before long, the golden hour light was calling us outside once again! Down by the water, as the sun dipped low, Molly and Matthew shared some of the most romantic, glowing portraits of the day!

Then came the dancing, and everyone knew it would be something special, given their backgrounds! Their first dance was effortless, like watching two professionals glide across the floor, but they weren’t done yet. They surprised everyone with a choreographed flash mob, joined by their bridal party, that left the entire room cheering! The celebration continued with live music by twin brothers who kept the energy high and Molly’s mom even hopped on the drums to play a few songs with them!

The night was a perfect reflection of Molly and Matthew! Joyful, intentional, and full of love! From start to finish, it was an unforgettable celebration, and I feel so grateful to have witnessed it through my lens.

Molly and Matthew, thank you for trusting me to capture your day. You two are some of the most genuine souls I’ve ever met, and I have no doubt that your marriage will be filled with countless sweet moments, endless laughter, and of course, plenty of dancing as you move through life together!
