Mr. & Mrs. Buschjost | Capital Bluffs Event Center | Jefferson City, Missouri Wedding

On July 11th, I had the absolute joy of photographing Abbi and Brody’s beautiful wedding day, and from beginning to end, it was such a wonderful celebration filled with so many meaningful moments!

The morning began at Capitol Bluffs Event Center, where I met Abbi and her bridesmaids as they finished getting ready for the day ahead. Before everyone was dressed, I spent some time photographing the reception space, and it was absolutely stunning. Large reception tables were beautifully decorated with lush florals, elegant candles, and charming little lamps that made the room feel incredibly warm and inviting. Soft pale blue accents tied everything together perfectly, creating a timeless and elegant atmosphere that truly brought the entire space to life.

Upstairs, Abbi and her girls were busy with hair and makeup as excitement filled the room. Although they had a large bridal party, everyone stayed right on schedule, making the morning feel relaxed and enjoyable! While I was with the girls, my second shooter spent the morning with Brody and the guys at his house, capturing Brody getting ready with the help of his dad before photographing the guys together outside.

When it was finally time for Abbi to slip into her wedding gown, her mom helped her every step of the way! The two of them shared nothing but smiles as they watched the final pieces come together. Once her veil was in place, Abbi looked absolutely breathtaking. She truly made a stunning bride! Before leaving for the ceremony, Abbi shared a grand reveal with her bridesmaids and candlelighters. Their reactions were priceless as they squealed with excitement the moment they saw her! It was such a sweet memory to witness and photograph. She even shared a special first look with her two grandmothers! They teared up and became emotional as soon as they both witnessed Abbi as a gorgeous bride. Abbi even wore one of her grandmother’s pearls, so they shared a special moment together!

After the reveals, we stepped outside Capitol Bluffs near one of the ponds for bridesmaid portraits. The afternoon sun was definitely bright, and the wind decided it wanted to make an appearance throughout the day, but everyone embraced it with smiles. Despite the challenging conditions, we captured so many beautiful images of Abbi and her bridesmaids together, and they all looked absolutely gorgeous!

From there, I made my way to St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Wardsville, Missouri, where I met back up with my second shooter. Just outside the church, Abbi shared an emotional first look with both her dad and her brother before the ceremony began. Their smiles said everything as they turned around and saw Abbi for the first time. We captured a few family portraits before everyone headed inside for the ceremony.

Abbi and Brody were married during a beautiful traditional Catholic Mass surrounded by their family and friends. It was such a meaningful ceremony, and before long, the two officially became husband and wife! After family portraits at the church, the newlyweds exited through the church doors with the biggest smiles on their faces!

Following the ceremony, we traveled to the Missouri State Capitol in downtown Jefferson City for bridal party and newlywed portraits. The wind continued to keep us on our toes throughout portrait time, but Abbi and Brody handled it like absolute champs. They laughed through it all and made every moment together look effortless, resulting in so many beautiful portraits that perfectly captured their joy!

Once portraits wrapped up, everyone climbed aboard the party bus and headed back to Capitol Bluffs to celebrate! Guests eagerly awaited the newlyweds’ grand entrance into the reception, cheering as Abbi and Brody were announced for the very first time as husband and wife! The evening continued with cake cutting, heartfelt toasts that had everyone laughing one moment and wiping away tears the next, and a delicious dinner shared with family and friends.

After dinner, Abbi and Brody shared their first dance as husband and wife, followed by the traditional parent dances. One of the sweetest moments of the evening came when Abbi surprised her mom by presenting her with her wedding bouquet. Her mom was completely caught off guard and visibly emotional, making it such a touching moment for everyone in the room!

As the sun began to set, we stole the newlyweds away for a few golden hour portraits. We hopped on a golf cart and explored the property in search of the perfect light. The evening couldn’t have been more beautiful as the soft, glowy sunset wrapped around them. Abbi and Brody spent the entire time laughing, joking, and simply enjoying those quiet moments together while we captured some of my favorite portraits from the day.

After sunset portraits, we returned inside where the dance floor quickly filled with family and friends celebrating the newlyweds! The energy in the room was contagious, and everyone danced the night away!

From start to finish, Abbi and Brody’s wedding day was absolutely beautiful! Every detail was thoughtfully planned, every moment was filled with genuine joy, and it was such an honor to document this incredible chapter of their story!
