We had been trying to find a perfect date for Amber and Trevor’s engagement session in the fall and when their session day was finally here, the weather was not in our favor so we had to reschedule. I’m so glad we did, because Amber and Trevor had a perfect, yet chilly, evening for their engagement session! When these two stepped out of their car, we knew the evening was going to be great! They were both dressed to the nines and looked very enthusiastic about having their photos taken. We strolled around downtown Columbia and followed the beautiful golden fall light that we love so much. The fall colors were in full affect and were definitely showing off on the evening of their session! Every direction you looked had gorgeous shades of orange and yellow. Even the ground and pavement was painted with vibrant colors from all of the pretty fallen leaves. I don’t think we could have picked a more perfect date.
Amber and Trevor are such an adorable pair! They share a sense of comfort when they are around one another that is darling to see. There was never a shortage of laughter all evening with these two in front of our cameras, as Trevor knows how to get Amber to smile with his jokes. Amber and Trevor are such naturals and we loved how effortless they made everything look! These two just fit perfectly together and it’s clear to see they are meant to be. As we ventured around the downtown area watching Amber and Trevor’s darling love unfold right in front of our eyes, we knew we were capturing some of our favorite images to date. Their love is real, their love is authentic, and their love shines! It’s truly something special when we have the pleasure to witness such a love!
Their Love Story
Amber and Trevor met at Blair Oaks during their freshman year of High School. It was Amber’s first year at Blair Oaks and Trevor quickly developed a crush on her after seeing a new face at school. He kept his sights on Amber from afar but didn’t actually talk to her for awhile! After many of Trevor’s friends had mentioned Amber to him at one point in time since starting school, he was immediately thinking “man I need to see this girl.” Weeks later, Trevor would finally approached Amber in the hallway. This initial interaction sparked an everyday routine where the two would walk from the high school to the buses after school let out. A budding romance soon formed between the two as Trevor and Amber would meet at their lockers at the end of the school day before making their trek up the hill to the buses.
Trevor had mentioned to Amber how he was planning on asking her to be his girlfriend. Amber anxiously waited two whole weeks, and no special question was asked. Trevor became too nervous to officially ask her to be his girlfriend. Right before school was about to let out for the summer, Trevor finally mustered up the courage to ask Amber the question he had been holding on to for two weeks. Like always, they started walking up the hill toward the buses. Trevor being the gentleman he is, always walked Amber to her bus first before getting on to his bus. As the two of them were standing outside of her bus door on one of the last days of freshman year, Trevor looked at Amber and finally uttered the words she had been waiting two weeks to hear: He said, “Amber will you be my girlfriend?” Amber looked at him with a smile on her face and said, “I don’t know, I’ll answer you in two weeks!” And with that, she turned and made her way up the bus stairs leaving Trevor standing there speechless.
Exactly two weeks later after school had been let out for the summer, Trevor and Amber went out with some friends to the roller skating rink in town. They skated all night together doing loops around the track. It was just about closing time and the rink employees announced the final song for the night. As Trevor and Amber were looping around the rink for the last time, Amber told him that she would indeed be his girlfriend! Oh how cute young love is!
How He Asked
Amber and Trevor are high school sweethearts who defied the odds! After dating all throughout high school and now throughout college, Amber and Trevor knew their love would stand the test of time. Trevor knew it was time to make a proposal happen. Throughout their years of dating, Trevor found it to be difficult to surprise Amber because she would always end up guessing it or figuring things out before the surprise would happen. Trevor was determined to make sure that Amber would have no clue when we would propose.
It was Amber’s last year of college before she graduated and she lived an hour and a half away from Trevor. One night, Trevor came up to school to visit her for the weekend. It was dark outside by the time they had come home from dinner that night and Trevor suggested they go on a walk together! Walks had always been their thing; even from the beginning. Anytime they had a stressful or busy day, or even just needed to clear their heads, Amber and Trevor would always join hands and share in a walk. They were strolling around campus just talking with each other when they happen to make a detour over to a landmark at the school Amber was attending called “The Friendship Tower. As they were standing right under the center of the tower, Trevor grabbed her hand and got down on one knee and proposed!
Amber and Trevor are absolutely adorable and we cannot wait to see them tie the knot next year! We know their day will come together beautifully and be nothing short of amazing! Amber and Trevor are truly best friends and watching their sweet love is such a treat. I know we will be counting down the days until we have these to giddy love birds back in front of our cameras.
