Jordan + Kenton | Capen Park Engagement Session

We met Jordan and Kenton at Capen Park for their engagement session on a beautiful and warm day in November!  It was exceptionally warm for this time of year so were not complaining.  Jordan and Kenton brought their fur baby Loki along for the fun and he was just as cute as can be!  He was so well behaved and loved the praise and love he was receiving from his mom and dad for being such a good boy!  We strolled through the woods at Capen enjoying the fall beauty as trees are beginning to become bare.  Even with the majority of the leaves covering the ground instead of the trees, the backdrop was still beautiful as ever.

Jordan and Kenton have such a sweet love and though Kenton was more shy, Jordan could always get him to genuinely smile and laugh.  These two made our job an absolute breeze.  It didn’t take long before they had warmed up to the camera and became such naturals.   We trekked around the park stopping at many fun spots along the way!  Jordan and Kenton changed outfits half way through the session and really pulled out all the stops.  They were dressed to impress and we couldn’t help but to swoon over their outfit choice!  Jordan and Kenton really do share something special and we thoroughly adored capturing the love between them!

Their Love Story

Jordan and Kenton share a love story ten years in the making!  They met in sixth grade while attending middle school in California, Missouri.  They quickly became good friends and spent a lot of time together through their church youth group.  Through the years, they remained good friends before officially dating in high school.  Their first date wasn’t really intended to be a date, or at least to Jordan’s knowledge it wasn’t.  In February of 2009, Kenton suggested that their group of friends should all go ice skating together.  Jordan and Kenton were supposed to ask friends to go along and literally everyone they asked already “had other plans” or ended up cancelling. Kenton and Jordan talked it over and decided to go ahead and go ice skating together. Turns out, Kenton didn’t actually ask anyone and told others that he intended it to be just Jordan and him.  They had a fun day, laughed a lot and ended up hanging out all the time after the ice skating date.

Jordan knew Kenton was a catch one of the first times they hung out.  The two watched Disney’s Aladdin and Kenton started quoting all the words. Jordan has always loved Disney and having someone to share that with was really exciting.  She remembers this making quite an impression on her!  Over the years, Jordan and Kenton have enjoyed  traveling together (especially to Disney locations), watching movies, and spending time with their fur-baby Loki.

It’s clear Jordan and Kenton are a perfect pair!  Kenton loves how Jordan has always been her true self.  She never followed the crowds or trends.  Even throughout middle school when everyone was trying to find their place and fit in, Jordan was just being Jordan.  She has continued that her entire life. Kenton loves how Jordan doesn’t care what others think!  Jordan admires Kenton’s sense of adventure.  He’s constantly finding ways to keep their life exciting, and Kenton is  always opening doors to different opportunities that they cannot wait to explore together.

How He Asked

Joran and Kenton share a proposal story that was made for the movies!  They got engaged at the happiest place on earth, Disney World!  When they arrived at Magic Kingdom, Jordan and Kenton were walking past Cinderella’s Royal Table restaurant.  They decided to stop and ask if they could go inside to simply look around. Unfortunately, without a reservation you are not allowed inside, but due to a “last minute cancellation” they had an open table. They’re always completely booked months in advance so after some convincing, Jordan and Kenton decided to take advantage of this rare opportunity to dine inside the beautiful castle.

The darling pair were ushered to their window table overlooking the kingdom, and enjoyed a delicious meal together.  As they ate, they were greeted by several princesses.  When it was time for dessert, the waiter brought out a covered serving platter and said, “The chef has prepared a special dessert”.  As he unveiled the “dessert,” Jordan was presented with a glass slipper laying on a bed of rose petals. Kenton then got on one knee and asked her to marry him!  Little did Jordan know,  this “last minute cancellation” had been planned for years, and Kenton orchestrated the best proposal she could ever imagine. He arranged everything with their staff and managed to pull off this amazing surprise!  As a lifelong Disney lover, there is absolutely no better place to propose than Cinderella’s Castle and Kenton made all Jordan’s princess dreams come true!  This has got to be one of the most romantic and well thought out proposal stories we’ve heard in a while!  Kenton really knew the best way to ask Jordan.

We are so excited for these two and the future ahead of them.  We know together, they will do amazing things!  Congratulations Jordan and Kenton, you two are quite the perfect pair!  Enjoy some of our favorites from our time spent with them last week!
